Two major parts left, the torque converter for one, and a good turbo for two.

The torque converter is the main one, and that's merely not that big of a deal, I can still bolt everything together and mock it up, then pull it back out and install the converter.

The turbo would be nice to install with the motor outside the truck, but hey I'm not gonna be picky, I have had to do worse things.

BTW, thanx for editing the "OLD" part in my previous post ;)

What turbo are you looking for? I have a used turbo from an Eagle Talon that was planned to be for a twin turbo 302. It's slightly ported and in unknown condition. Would it do you any good, I gave $100 for it long ago?

Don't forget to get it dyno'd and get some times down the 1/4 mile track when you are done. :p:

Oh-
while you are here-
Don't forget that the high stall will create a lot of heat. See if there is a way of manually locking the torque converter in low range??

Going with a stock stall (low RPM hook-up, 1800), that helps build boost quickly, and as for the lock-up on the converter, it's just a simple switch away ;)

It's actually a small IHI Warner Ishi, but I will be in the market for a T3 with a .42 hot side.
PM me some photos of what you have.

John you really don't wanna play that tune, it would be embarrassing, if I put pizza cutter on it, and spanked the **** outta your Limited with a 4 popper.

BWHAHAHAHA that's classic, I could see you doing that too.

Ok, so I guess the first plan of action now, is to pull the fold out table down this friday, and the box of wiring harness and start separating the chassis/ride control harness from the engine management harness out of the Turbo Coupe and then get the Navajo in the garage and start yanking the factory harness out of the Navajo.

Hmmm getting through this week of classes is gonna be a toughie with all this wanting to get beck on the turbo project is at hand.

And now with extra room added to the shop/garage, it will be a welcom bit of room to be able to work in, although I really could use a bit more just to make it that much easier, but we'll just have to make due with what has been alotted to me.

Did you get a decent daily driver yet?

No sir I didn't, the BMW fell through he had no place to keep the boat , the 2nd gen Explorer I was going to trade the boat for fell through, the guy wanted a Cuddy Cabin insted of an open bow, I was going to trade Justin for his 1st gen, and on the way home from the B-day/Halloween party the transmission crapped out

Maybe this is a sign, that I'm stuck with the damn boat

But I take Lil Mrs. to the airport tomorrow, and so I get her GT for the next three days, so that'll save on some fuel right there. *insert Smartass Ben comment here*

Ok well I just got through printing off 31 pages of schematics for the Turbo Coupe, and coupled with the Electrical Service manual for the Navajo from Ford, looks like I'm in the green for a wiring launch :D

I'll also be doing the Mercon V conversion in this transmission too.

Be good to Reaper and carerra & targa..

Dammit, why did I have to go to Autotrader and do a search on Mark VIII's today? There's a 98 on there for $3500. (sits and wonders if they do financing)

Now Ben why would I want to put that heavy boat anchor in the front of my crawler, I'm dropping nearly 100lbs. off it's nose with the 4 popper, and with a fuel cell or BII trank mounted in the rear, I'm actually going to have a more even wieght distribution front to rear, let alone side to side.

As nice as that DOHC is, it's not for this application, now if I was doing a street sleeper, I would highly consider it.

Jeff - :navajo:

BTW the little kitty's have nothing to worry about it's that damn retarded dog that needs to worry. :p:

That be the perfect Daily driver old fart vehicle for you.. You should be used to swapping motors on them :D I heard about the cat's new play toy ie bailey's tail.. roflmao.

I just realized ive been following this from page one and havent posted yet.

Fawesome project.

Get it finished, and we'll have another Halloween Gilmer run next year, now that i dont have something welded to jackstands anymore lol. :D

Well I went and swiped my engine hoist beck lastnight from the guy borrowing it, got all my wiring diagrams on the desk in the shop.

Cleaned up a bit more to make some room, so even though I really got not a damn thing done on the rig, due to some other stuff this next weekend it's AWN.

And as for a Halloween wheeling trip, hell it would just be nice to drive it down the street :(

For that matter, start it.

Well going to see if I can mock-up the drive train the Navajo this weekend and start to remove the factory PCM harness that will not be used to get it out of the way and see how many and what harness' I will need to build from scratch.

Mesuring the motor mount spacing as we speak, I can already see that the tranny cross member will have to be modded.
