3rd time's the charm!

Well, two Explorers are just never enough, soooo..... now I have 3 :D Four more and I'll have one for every day of the week, LOL.

I got this one from a member of the forum who moved to Australia and just wanted to get rid of it (thanks again, Bryce!)... Technically she was free, but I had to pay $105 in storage fees to get her out of JFK's long term parking lot (dealing with the NYPD Officer was hilarious- apparently the mob likes to drop off cars with.. things... in them, or he thought maybe I'd gotten conned into a stolen vehicle. Had to tell him we're a buncha nuts on Explorer Forum and we do crazy parts swaps all the time ;) ). That plus a new shell for my boy Brennan's (Numidian) tailgate after I accidentally lifted the trailer off the hitch and rammed it into the back of his beautiful F150 as I was driving the Explorer up onto it  :(

Ok, onto the gritty details!

She's a 1992 XLT, power windows and locks, two tone red and silver with that damn Victoria's Secret red interior (I've been calling her "Victoria", lol), 3.73 LS, Manual locking hubs, very clean 176,000 mile engine with only a little bit of tapping and 8 gorgeous feet of fold down space inside *wiggles eyebrows* :D

Matter of fact, this one's in such good shape (except for the easily fixable rocker panel rust) that I've decided to part Tank out and make her into my new trail beast. It hurts to do it, but Tank's been terminally ill (rusted out) since long before I got him, and I just can't afford 3 trucks :( Trans, most suspension, console, seats, tcase, and my custom sharpie-fied interior panels are all spoken for but if you're interested in something else, PM me (don't post here asking me, this is my registery damnit).

I have a 5.5" superlift that's goin in this one, and hopefully 4.56's and a locker, then 35's :D HELLLLOOOOOO TRAILS!

Anyone suggest a good name for the old girl??

The Xterra will never see the trail. Purely pavement with this one. I work too much and drive too much to do anything anyway. I have sunk no money into this truck. I got rid of the Explorer because I didn't have time to use it or the need anymore. I don't know how the alternator bolts could have cross threaded. I apoligize for that if it was my fault. I have changed many an alternator in my day and that's a first. That alternator was brand new too. It might have had 1000 miles on it when I sold it. It was a 130 amp out of a Limited. Glad to see everyone having fun up there. Electrical systems do not like mud or water whatsoever.

From my understanding, you have replaced mostly all the starting system, battery, now alternator, now starter. All of that stuff was almost brand new. That Optima that was in there cost me a fortune, I still don't understand how that would not hold a charge anymore.

My understanmding is the alternator fried not because of anything your fault. TOO MUCH MUD Mike

Yeah keep him & Lindsy out of the mud at 101. Hell I learned my lesson last time I was there..

I wasn't blaming you for anything, Chad! If anything, we're really good at destroying stuff ;)

I know you weren't. I'm just amazed. I guess i never had the chance to push it that hard.

I would be willing to help with the Superlift install. It would be kinda cool to work on my own (former) truck. I have all the air tools, and everything else needed. My garage is closer too.

I forgot to shut my hatch glass and had to do an emergency pull over... I just happened to pick a parking lot with this sign in it. How funny is that?!

Kinda wish somebody had been able to take a picture of the muddy water that was up to my dash before I opened the door. Funny thing is, I've been on enough wheelin trips AND I'm old enough not to let my buddy's 15 year old brother egg me into doing something that I know my truck can't handle and yet I did it anyway  Stupid is as stupid does I guess. I took apart my amplifier and cleaned the mud out with rubbing alcohol per Batman's instructions (after he stopped laughing hysterically :p ) and so far so good. Got some decent bedliner too, hopefully she'll be good as new once the floor's painted and I drain and refill the axles, trans and tcase....

You can kind of see the water line running from headlight to tail light... I accidentally broke a hella while I was trying to drain the muddy water out of it too :(

I thought women stopped listening to 15 year old boys at a certain age. I bet you don't listen to him again. Sorry you damaged the truck, but I bet it was fun.

its a fishtank:D

Yeah, you'd think that, eh Brian? This is what I get for trying to show a 2wd J**p "How it's done". Rather, "How it shouldn't be done" :p

As it's been pointed out to me several times already, apparently I drive a fishtank no matter HOW many Explorers I go through ,,!, :D ,!,,
