Barack Obama linked 2nd gen. SAS

before I thought of narrowing that way I thought id have to slice the tubes and reweld somewhere ion the middle, creating a point prone to breakage. The solution would be to truss it and trya nd take some stree off, either that or clamshell a piece of pipe over the weld. This way I can grind the c off and remove it, cut the amount off the end and put the c back on with no weld on the tube to break, just the new weld on the c

and as for the tires... I was going to buy a set of 38x15.5x16.5 TSL's but the guy sold them before i got the money. I just like wide tires, more tread to grab.

These are the only flex shot on a rock that I have. The front suspension is pretty much at its max in these shots .

Mannnn...! I'm going to get my ass kicked on the RTi, damn you :p Lookin' royally badass, IZ!! I'm too lazy to backtrack, what lockers are you planning on running again..?

It just looks like a lot of flex because of that Body lift it there :p

No, really though it looks good ;) What air shocks are you using, at what is there ratings?

Look here, Dingleberry... Because of this stupid web access restriction, I have to hit the 'retry' button about 40 times to post even one reply :p!! And then half the time my new reply doesn't show, so I have to retype it. In a week and a half I get full net access back and then I'm going to hound you until you cry uncle :D

Wide tires arent always the best - look at the Krawlers - the 37" is 12.5" wide.

Hehe thanks. The lockers, as I think snowborder mentioned, are Detroit in the back and AussieLocker up front.

The air shocks are the Fox 2.5s with 16" of travel. As for the ratings, I'm not quite sure since it was pre-charged and pre-valved from the factory but the shock compressed 9.75" at ride height leaving about 6.25 out. Sorry, its kind of hard to talk of a "rating" for an air-shock because its Force vs. Compression curve is not like that of Coils. So per say, the "rate" is not a fixed number like 300 lbs or something.

---------------

Today I didn't get much done except I've decided that I'm going to mount the rear shocks outboard of the chassis :D The wide axles and the small backspacing leaves plenty of room for the shock.

When you have time, can you do a run through of pics. Like take pictures of the links to the frame and axle for those who plan to copy you. :D

Nice job IZman :D ...I know what you mean about the overall project not being that hard, it's just time consuming. For me it was the designing, cutting and grinding of tabs and brackets. The only pre-fabbed items I was able to use were the main link tabs on the axle from Poison Spyder and the frame mounted link brackets also for the main links which were from Polyperformance. Everything else had to be fabbed, sometimes twice

Today my T-max 9k winch arrived :D I hope to have a bumper done sometime by the end of the weekend. My friends and I are going up to Paragon the weekend after (14-15) so its crunch time on the little things.

I hate to see your credit card bill for all this stuff you ordered. :D

LOL yeah but IMO, when it gets too cold to do any fabrication outside, then I can't really spend much on the Explorer except for gas and whatever.
