I've got my 220v Lincoln that only takes a minute to switch over to MIG. Just have to reverse the polarity and it's good to go, not sure how much gas I have left though...should be enough for tacking.

How is everyone going about getting full welds at the joints around the roof areas? Extreme 4x4 had a good idea of using a hole saw to cut holes in the floor to lower the cage, weld, then plate over the holes.

My 220v welder is setup for mig. I can try to bring it if needed. I think a 110v fluxcore will be better for tacking with though. Sure will be easier to move around.

Dave I was thinking like you were about hole saw the floor to drop the cage. The other option is to cut the bottom 6" off the legs so it can drop down and then sleeve the joint. JR on pirate4x4 had a good write up about doing splices in tight spots.

Once my cab ends up like Rios is in the pictures above the cab will be getting cut off and tubed out.

Let's just save you some time and cut the cab off at the party. :p:

I still like to be kind of highway legal for a little longer. We need more trailer trash in our group with completly un streetable rigs before I am ready for that. Besides what fun is it cutting up good sheet metal. Twisted metal is much more fun when it pops and rips the saw out of your hands.

Money sent;)

So it's just Jefe and me for carne asada taco's? Any more takers?

Always up for Carne Asada!:D

Thanks Dave;)

I like the Ideas of cutting the 6" and drop and sleve better I think;)

I'm sure we'll have some 1.75" left over that we can sleeve over the bottom 6". But that really means that we're back to fully welding the cages before we drive home unless we take the cage home unassembled.

Im up for carne asada. You can tack it together then use a sawzall to cut the legs to drop it. then sleeve it after that.

Steve, I am having trouble with my paypal account. Let me know if you received anything, or got it twice..
