Carlovers Desert Beater Build

I didn't know you could press a stock snout into a lift spindle...that's very good to know. Just for kicks, do you know how a procomp spindle/snout ranks as far as strength compared to fabtech and stock? I'm guessing it's the same as fabtech.

So you need to have new arms built now too, right? Since you'll be running uniballs.

im not sure what im going to do at this point. i keep bouncing back and forth as to what to do. I want the spindles but $1200 or so is alot and would cage my whole truck and buy a few other things. Or for a little more than that i could have links.....i hate choices.

I say enjoy what you just got for a while and focus on another area, like a cage.

with another set of fabtech spindles you will need a cage!!!
what about the4x4 dana 35 snouts? arent they all the rage and cheaper then the D44?

Called up Camburg today. They use the stock snouts on thier entry level kits. These are the same kits they raced on for a few seasons. They did not break a single snout running 35's and racing some of the rougher courses. im actually quite confident the stock snouts will work for awhile.

The fabtech ones are definatly not the same. The stock ones are designed different and are heat treated.

spent some time coverting my hella 4000's to HID today. super easy, took a little over an hour.

Are you still worried about the heat in the plastic housing?

Well the explorer is gonna get some racing action sooner than i thought. Im going to enter it in a Tuff Truck race at the Del Mar Fairgrounds in San Diego on June 30th. Should be a blast.....

...Coool...:biggthump

...Do you have a link to the info???

...Just make sure you turn in the right form, and don't end up entered in the Demolition Derby...:D

haha, I know the feeling. Once you have a pretty capable truck you start beating it like it owes you money. Now the breakage is more serious and worse every time.

I want to run my truck and shoot some video but know that if I do anything short of what I consider a mild trail ride it's probably not going to be in any shape to run up to Moab.

it was my own fault really. Came out of a fast section and a gnarly whoops section snuck up on me. kind of panicked and hit the brakes and ended up just slamming through 5 or 6 of them. that was painful lol.
