Great...so maybe I'll hold off on that till after the trip, so I'm not pressed on time between the trip and work. As much as I hate to put it off. I'll have to look into those aftermarket ones, I'll have to install them later, but it does sound like a decent idea

So I can just throw the filter on, fab up a heat shield, slap a hole in a spot to feed right to the filter, fun. More plans to the three mile long list! lol

Here is 84 ranger I built with Atk 306 4r70w and twin stick np205, Dana 35 ttb, disc 8.8

We put two batteries under the hood along with ac, and cruise control. Radiator tucked…. Truck has no body lift is 84 ranger standard cab uses 92 explorer dash. Custom bumper to bumper..
Column shift from gen ii grafted onto 84 ranger steering column ;) 5.0 is running 1” intake spacer as well…..

302 fits rbv nicely
Don’t let them tell you it’s not possible

Again amsoil (made by injen) dry blue filter with cold air feed
This engine bay is packed!!!

Oh I'm aware, with enough determination and resources, can fit about anything on these things! I already dipped my feet in that water when I had to fab some brackets for the fog lights, now working on more for the burban overhead console hopefully soon.

Saw a guy on Facebook mount two batteries sideways in the oem explorer location, can't find it anymore, not sure how they managed that, most I see throw it in the subwoofer spot, which i want to get that working eventually too lol

The Jeep aftermarket has lots of dual optima battery holders that are compact

It never ends it just expands into an empire just slightly out of your control

Regarding the thermostat housing, if the two sensors are not leaking, don't make them leak. If they are leaking now then you should buy a new aftermarket unit. But if they are okay now, make it a massive priority to not move the sensors, at all. Don't bump into them or twist the tensioner loose next to it, if it might tweak it. The sensors are the defective design there, the seal can't be restored if it begins to leak. So they cannot be loosened without expecting them to leak. I never disturbed mine when I did the timing system work on my 99 SOHC, it still works fine now(I have an aftermarket unit to replace it the next time).

How the heck did you get to it without removing them?

Edit: guess a wrench, especially a rotating one, could possibly reach it without much issue. Or at least with the intake and maybe the throttle body removed, so maybe I can just take the route, just worried about getting it back in the socket that way, unless I can squeeze my hand in there to start it. How many tight should it be back on there? Do we know how many ft lbs?

I did the front tensioner alone first, as I waited for the timing tool set to arrive. Then I removed the entire thermostat housing, the intake, and then the front of the engine. I doubt it's often that the thermostat can be left in place to do just the tensioner, I mentioned it here because you are not doing the cassettes right now.

Definitely going to TRY not to do the cassettes now, but its not ruled out of being done. I'll mess with it tomorrow, want to say I read that its a 27mm socket, so I'll see about getting a wrench on it.

Also, think my ABS light is officially on for who knows why, last couple days the light'll randomly pop on, but if I restarted the engine it goes back off. But tonight as I was about to leave work, that didn't do the trick. I mean, fluids good, so it shouldn't hurt to drive on that, at least for a while, but I just keep having more problems added to the list. Guessing maybe one of the sensors, I'll get to it after the tensioners.

ABS issues come up often if the vehicle is rarely driven, try to drive it a little more, and be hard with the brakes too at times. The front sensors are the most sensitive, and if it's AWD/4WD, then you should wonder about the hub bearings.

Hub bearings, got it, she gets driven at least once a day for a good amount of time, but she'll get plenty of driving Saturday night on the way to the woods, about an hour drive of 90% highway. Harder on the brakes? Do you drive enough, or is your area that much nicer? People like to cut me off constantly like they legit cannot see me, I end up hitting them harder than I'd like quite often. Or you'll go down the interstate, someone just slides right on over and hits the brakes. Really wonder how half these people even have a license! lol

Okay you're good then. I see some people still gliding along on roads like they have all day to get someplace, to they hardly use their brakes.

I deliver mail, I hammer the brakes a good 4-5 hours on my route each day.

That is true, forget ya did that, you probably see more than I do usually. Plenty of people just gliding around, no blinkers or anything, theres always those couple of Sunday drivers out each day too

For the front tensioner the intake and thermo housing have to come off then a socket fits right on

The 02+ upper intake is so much better!
