DWD will be able to make it. He comes back 1st part of March and I fly out a couple of days later. The good news is my truck will be ready to go.

Yeah, I was reffering to the Truck Haven run that he just missed.

Ahh yes...I was trying to get my truck done for THaven, but I couldn't get driveshafts, exhaust, air compressor and rims done in time with enough gas money to spare for the trip. Maybe next time.

Maybe we need to start making some beefy lifts for the Escape like Jeep has for the Liberty? Ouch, I'd take the Jeep anyday.
Escape lift kit? Sweet, I'll be able to lift my focus. :p (same subframe)

Hey, Ford Racing already makes a kit to SAS the rear (8.8) of the Focus and put the 4.6L V8 in it . . should work on the Escape. Then you just need to SAS the front. :D It'll cost you more than you'd pay for a new Escape though

At this point it's not looking good for me either. According to the new schedule, we will be back in Japan too. Just like 90ranajo, I will be trying like hell to make it and I won't back out until I know for sure. Hopefully the ship will stay in the yards longer than expected and delay departure :D Misty is also due the end of July so I am going to play that card as well.

Now that is planning ahead....knock up the wife so you can go to Moab. ;) :D

Hey Jefe, How about just mount a Escape body without the sub frame(s) to a BII frame :)

I was worried they were gonna call that cute yute the BIII or something, but they stuck with the "E" name, Phewww!!

With all these guys in Japan we could have a Japan run!

I'm not sure I'll be able to make it now. Since I broke my thumb over Thanksgiving weekend it got my schedule all messed up. I think I'll be in Japan for Moab, but I'm trying like hell to make it down with my truck this year.

Just got back from the Doctor's office. He says that I'm still not deployable for about another 2 months after I start my physical therapy, which won't be for another 3-5 weeks. So I just may be able to make Moab now.

We're gonna try like hell to make it. But if old Uncle Sam say we gotta go, then we gotta go.

On a side note I've now got new tire/wheel pics uploaded to my thread.

Yeah, as mentioned (we must've noticed it on about the same day)... :) The mother's day part is a bummer, so I may only be out Thurs/Fri through Sat. I could just leave Sun morning. We'll see. I got my skid plates on the way though... woo-hoo  Finally now I can hide the already huge dent in my tank.. :)

I wanted to post this for some folks that otherwise might not be able to make the trip with the Explorerforum group.

UCORA is also planning a Moab run for mid June.

Details here:

http://ucora.org/v-web/bulletin/bb/posting.php?mode=reply&t=1262

We wish that we could make the trip again with you guys, sadly, the timing is out of the question for us this year -- but we are going!

For those with closer to stock vehicles -- know that Moab has a lot to offer you as well. I made my first run out there with a mildly modified 92 Explorer on 31's that we drove there and back -- it did fine. Of course one of the defining factors that either limits or allows your participation is the body damage clause. If you are willing to rearrange some body parts, your rig will make a lot of trails... ask me how I know. :D

Just remember when thinking about going to this event you need to plan for the weather. If you're not familiar with the weather in mid-June, it can be 105 + . We are taking a chance by going mid-May. :fire:

This coming from someone who lives in Arizona!
Nothing wrong with a little heat! Just remember to pack the sun block, a good hat and LOTS of water.
