I really wanna go, im just not sure if i can take off work. I work 3 12's Saturday, Sunday, Monday. Ill talk to my boss and see what he says. Im hoping to get everything fixed this next week actually. It amazing how this site can motivate.
ok i signed up but before i take off of work and drive out im looking to see who all is going, and if there will be room for a ride along and just wondering are we having anykind of a potluck???
Wow I just read through all 12 pages of this in one sitting, and it has got me pumped to go, but alas, I cant really. My X isnt together, and even when it is I still have no money to go. I am fresh out of high school and in between jobs. This sucks. I would feel weird riding along with somebody I don't know. I don't like just being a passenger either, I love to do the driving. I wonder if it would be possible to bring just a dirtbike? Do many people show up with bikes or is it just cars only?
Some trails like Fins and Things which is in the Sand Flats Recreation area allow dirt bikes, but some like Elephant Hill, which is in Canyonlands National Park, do not allow ATVs. Check it out and see what is available and once we have a schedule of trails to be run this year, see which ones are available.
So as far as a big group camping, how do we go about getting involved in that? Sounds like some people are just making individual reservations. Has anybody actually set up a group reservation yet? I'm definitely going for low cost here. (Anything short of sleeping in the back of the X), besides, camping is way more fun anyway.
Well I'll be getting there Thursday as well. On Friday I'll run it with you if you want. Thus far I havn't seen anyone say what they will be running on Friday and since I havn't been to moab since 04 I'll practically run anything ya want too, rather then sitting around Friday afternoon ...
Well we just made resv at the Silver Sage, so we're official. I'll be driving out and Ashli & her 9 yr old son Ivan will be flying to SLC and driving down from there.
We'll all be in by Thursday nite so we'll be on the trails too Friday, but since Ivan has never been to Moab we'll probably want to do the Klondike Bluff/Tower Arches trails so he can see the dino tracks and stuff. The only other trail I REALLY want to do is Flat Iron Mesa because it's been a curse to me; I've tried to run that trail for years and something has always happened to prevent it.
It sounds like we'll have a full crew by Friday morning. Less than two months to go
