Looks like the new Toyota FJ's can't handle the offroading they keep trying to tell us about...:p:

i belong to a few toyota websites and havent heard about this yet... hmmmm

well that sucks... i never really did like the new fjs anways..... its jsut another new SUV

broncos, scouts, explorers before the third gen (when they had live axles), k5s, those were the real suvs... none of this frilly crap --- the only new suvs that arent too bad are the expeditions and the suburbans... but even those have started becoming all frilly

Ouch!! Kinda reminds me of how the old Cherokee unibodies used to crack...

I'll have to ask my uncle (service writer for toyota) and see if he has heard anything about this. That's crazy! Like ld50 (it's an L) said, 107 so far. I wonder how many haven't seen that thread yet and posted.

OUr FJ has no signs of cracking, yet...

Toyota will make good on this, its a wide spread problem so far.

Just another SUV? I think not! The FJ has a *****in wheelbase and is great off road....Julee's FJ strapped my BII 3 times on Saturday when wheeling :)

Yes I was picking more difficult lines...

<--- is experiencing body rip in an Explorer :p::

Rip is right at the corner where the battery would sit.

the floor boards in my BII have had rips in them since I got it....all BII's I have ever seen have these rips. They are not in crumple zones or anything, just random rips in the floor just inside the rocker panels...no biggie some silicoln and I'm good for winter!

:D topic came up at work the other day, one of the old timer`s told me FJ stands for "F---in Junk"
Maybe that`s why they are ripping?
:D

Rip is right at the corner where the battery would sit.

Before adding the rollcage. I ripped open the seam where the firewall meets the floorboards, and cracked part of the floor above the drivers side body mount. Flexing a body repeatedly like a tin can will tend to do that :D

The cage stiffened things up and there hasn't been any cracking since.
