Return from Moab

Hey, everybody

Well, I finally have a chance to post a message. I made it back today (Tuesday) without any problems (11 hours). I even washed my truck already. Best way to find if trail pinstriping is just dust or real damage. Unfortunately, some didn't wash off. Guess it's time to get out the McGuire's. No other damage, at least none that I have found.

Considering some of the places I took the truck, it's actually not too bad. Hidden Canyon (past the official turnaround), Hidden Canyon Overlook, Bartlett Overlook, Top of the World, the first couple miles of White Rim on Monday morning (damn, one of these times I'm gonna do all of that trail) and then a few other places in Canyonland Park Monday afternoon and a ride-a-long with Matt on Saturday on Porcupine Trail.
Man, all I can say is: I had a great time.

It was great to get reacquainted with old friends and meet new ones, which is what these runs are all about. Sure, the wheeling is great, but the people are even more important. For what it's worth, in my opinion we have a great little community going here.

Looking forward to the next time I have a chance to do this, whenever that might be.

Ok guys, so I realize I may come off sounding overly-girlish by saying this (but then again, there's not a whole lot I can do about that, is there?) . . . .

Anyway, reading what all of you have had to say, and especially looking at all of your pictures so far really just about makes me want to cry over the fact that I wasn't able to go on this trip--I'm not kidding here! I am so jealous of all of you!! It looks like y'all had such a great time, and I really wish I had been able to be there!!!:(

I only have this to say to you. WE HAD IT ALL PLANNED FOR YOU TO GO!!!!! Only thing you had to do is ditch work for a few days, that's it. The kidnapping excuse would have work I know it would have. LOL
I would say after Moab there will be a few Texan's going to CCR2001. Alec and Rebecca I hope will make it and there is Mike, Gerald, Randall and his girlfriend that we also hope can make it.

Plus, from what I could tell from these pictures, some of you (younger) guys aren't half-bad looking either . . . :D
DON'T EVEN GET THEM STARTED PLEEEEEEEEEEEEASSSSSSEEEE!!!!!

You obviously didn't see the piucture of me on top of the world posing. Lets see, what did Chris call it, "getting sassy"? LOL

That's the one problem with these pictures--I have no clue who anyone is in any of them. I was looking at them, and I'd see somebody and think "Hmm, not bad there . . . " but have no way of knowing who it was!

Now Matt, I'm almost afraid to ask, but just exactly which picture would that be??

I had just gotten done crawling out to look over the cliff (quite a view, LOL) and Chris told me to "look sassy" or something like that, LOL. If you see any guys in the pictures that are hugely tall, and have a goatee, it's probably me, LOL.

I see . . . well, I'm not sure I'd exactly call that looking "sassy" per se, but that is one BAD case of hat hair you have there Matt!

:D

MATT

After you left somebody was asking for your phone number. I went ahead and gave it to them. They even gave me a photo for you. Maybe you can get this one. Good LUCK!!

ps....hehehehehe

Leebo - too bad it wasn't the tall blond lesbian! LOL. For those that weren't there, our dinner one night was at a restaurant that was featuring a rodeo queen contest, as well as having many lesbian karaoke singers/dancers (which was neither good nor right!).

Explorergirl, yes I'd been wearing a hat all day... I never wear a hat except when I'm trying not to get sunburnt... I think I was laughing so hard form him telling me to be sassy :). I'm reall ynot that goofy looking... seriously... LOL.

Anyone grab that diff for me?

Well, once again, we (Wabbit and I) had a BLAST! It was great seeing some of the people from CCR 2000 again, (yes, even you Matt...LOL) and putting some faces to names as well. I also proved to myself on this trip, that I can face a challenge with my heart pounding and somehow convince myself to attempt it. I still gotta break that habit of sticking my arm out the window when I think I am gonna tip though!

And I agree with Peter, we got a great group of people here!

See ya all in the fall...

I'm told Dave Meisner picked it up.

I had a great time . . and I [or my truck I should say] came away with only a couple of scratches. . .

And someday I'll get around to posting my 180+ pics and a few movies of the trip.

Here's a few good ones:

This is trying to roll it on Steel Bender. (Gerald, you better have a better pic than that. . my photographer seemed to miss all the ledges below my front tires. . .:()

Looks like everyone had a really good time. I'm a little sad I didn't go this year. I don't think I would have been able to afford it though with the gas prices as high as they are. Anyway, I'll be seeing you guys at the next big run in California.

Jefe -
I really like the way your truck turned out with the body lift and those 33s!

Yeah its on my driveway. I had no idea it was yours. I was told it was for Matt. I couldn't figure that one out! Ha, now I know, I will put it in the garage now that I know who its for.

hey jefe, I love that picture of you going up that fin in fins n things. I don't think you could've hit the light better! I propose you change the picture under your name to that one :).

I remember that fin from last year! :)

To all the guys from Houston - thanks for driving the distance. I hope it was worth it for you!

To all who watched me do Lions Back - I want a copy of the videos, LOL

I just watched that video of you and Guy doing Lion's Back last night. After I take out all the parts of the video that no one needs to see, I'll send you a copy. It was definatley worth driving out there from Houston, even though I have to get my tranny rebuilt. I also found out that I grenaded my drivers side manual hub, and that somehow my passenger side front brakeline got damaged and needs to be replaced. Other than that, it was a blast!

By the way, your more then welcome to drive along and chat on the CB with us, but don't talk about flowers on the CB while were talking about wheeling, like we caught Jen and kwistine doing on this trip, LOL.

Hey, don't forget Gerald. He made us stop more than once for photo ops of flowers, especially the 'blue and red one next to eachother that make a good contrast.' Maybe it was blue and white, or red and white, I can't remember. Gerald?

Something like this matt?

I like it, exept that it looks like a took a picture of me on a flat rock and rotated it 45 degrees to make it look cool.

I've got 180+ pics from Moab. . it makes it quite difficult to decide which one is best. (I love digital cameras. . :))
