I like that too!
We should limit this run to certain equipped vehicles if we want to make good time on the trail.
Yes, that's true.
Minimum vehicle requirements:
Gen I (TTB based vehicles) - 33" tires, rear locker
Gen II (SLA based vehicles) - 35" tires, front & rear locker.
SAS'd vehicles - Just need a rear locker.
The more suspension lift you have, the easier the trail is.
ALL (and I mean ALL) vehicles MUST have rock sliders, with front and rear tow points.
Spare tire is good, but not necessary. A good tire patch kit will get you normally to the Loon Lake spillway where you can call for service.
Extra gas is normally not needed for an Explorer/Ranger (the zuk, however does need it..)
There is also one other catch - you must carry EVERYTHING out, including your poo. I have the proper equipment to meet this requirement; however, I will be charging $5 for usage over the whole weekend (to defray the cost of the equipment and supplies)
Goliath - you could probably do this, but I'd recommend a better transfer case skid plate.
