Parts are being Ordered
Finally starting to order parts!
The plan is to use the factory crank, Eagle 5.400" H-beam rods, Icon short-skirt pistons, 0.030" over, ARP main studs, Edelbrock heads, roller rockers and a custom ground Competition Cam (specs to follow.)
The delay was due to trying to find a long rod/short piston combination for a 302. The crank needs to be index ground, since the rod ends are Chevy-sized vs. Ford-sized.
I will be staying with the standard 50 oz. imbalance.
I have decided not to use the oil pan that came on the engine. While it is the correct shape (dual sump) for this conversion, it has a lot of corrosion on the outside. Ford Motorsports has a conversion kit - oil pan, pickup, dipstick, harmonic balancer, timing cover and water pump. This will solve a few problems.
Pictures later this week.
