Excellent oil pressure! I always had a nagging fear. I've been out of town 3 of 4 weeks, but I should be around home for a few weeks. I feel like summers almost over and i haven't done any fun car stuff. ****ty is all I can say

was able to get my old boss's son to flame the cowl hood. the guy that did it originally lives too far, and even mentioned ian to spray them. i knew he wasnt going to get it spot on, but as far as i am conserved he got very close. how many people do you know that can match up flames that someone else did?

even put a few licks on the side of the cowl as well. will have to go back however and try to drop the hinges some more to get the back of the hood to line up to the cowl of the truck, thats if i can because i made a little lip for the pinch weld to seal the hood up a little better and it might be holding it up in the back.
in other news when i was driving evil with no hood i watched to see what the iat were saying. they didnt look too much different then when the hood was on, so i cant figure that out. i also might be trying to find better motor mounts if they are out there. when ever i nailed it, the motor shot over a few inches, and they are pretty much new. that will be next years problem alone with a ton of others that i have ignored this summer just because i wanted to drive it.

Looks mint

That came out amazing! I love it

Can you chain down your engine? Force that torque downstream!
The
Flames really look great!

not really wanting to go for a chain, or turnbuckle as well. that kind looks tacky. yea, i know function before form, but i have always been that person that found away to have both.

got it all prettied up, and ready for a night on the town (sunday night cruise night as its known up here). figured i would also let my buddy len ride shotgun as well. got 3/4 of the way to were we where going when i glanced over as saw the water temp was around 220F.
panic sets in because there was no place to pull over. was able to get someplace fast (with a few questionable green lights). shut the truck off, and no fans again. after some ghetto wiring using the speaker wires from my sub box (hey, it worked) was able to band aid it home.

for what we could figure, the controller died this time. i was planning to wire all this into my terminator, but not this soon. for now i am going to wire a fuse in and hot wire it to the battery just so i can move it around, and if i get time to wire and program it to the terminator, i will do that.
also, for what its worth, this is the same buddy that was with me when i blew out the heater hose and bypass valve. the last time he went for cruise night, he was passenger in a mutual friends viper when it was totaled (they both where fine), then and mentioned the heater hose thing, and now the controller thing. i asked him how his last ride was in evil for cruise night.

so as my list o things to do to evil are, wire fans, wire reverse lights, a/c (where was that write up you were doing again jamie?lol). battery box relocation, overflow tank for innercooler, adjust hood to fit way better. this way i know what i gotta do or avoid.

winter is almost here. on saturday i may have went for evils last ride of the year before it goes for its winter nap. figure i would take a ride out to my cousin's because i havent seen him in a few years (also the same guy that got me into cars when i was 16 and him having a 85 mustang gt with stuff done to it. he came out with a grin and asked what i did to it since the last time he saw it. when i was leaving he had asked me to do a small burnout. figured what the hell, im out in mexico anyways.

i hit it and before i knew it, was redlined, and shifted then redlined all over again, then pointed itself to the ditch. thats when i got off it before i became a youtube video. if you can tell how long those strips are, thats how long it took to reach around 50ish mph or around 85kms a hour.
wasnt expecting that.
i also couldnt see anything behind me but smoke. he texted me saying that was awesome and wanted one of his own again lol.
when i did that however, i tried to do a brake stand and found out real fast that the vacuum was so low it would walk out of it because the brakes woulnd hold. i had talked to dono last week about this and mentioned that to him because this is his old motor after all and i really havent drove it much. he also said they sucked in his truck. after calling comp cams, they conformed this cam wont make tons of vacuum.
i found some gm's had electric vacuum pump from factory because i really dont want to spend 400ish on a vacuum pump. also cool weather is boost weather. thats if your blower isnt whipped. i go lucky and found one in reno that the guy is willing to ship to a parcel pick up for me, and should have it in a week or 2. looks like i am going to be collecting more parts over the winter while i look out the window hoping the snow will melt. thank god we havent had any yet but now that i have said it.........

I wonder if an additional vacuum reservoir would help? You rev engine slightly, let off ( makes vacuum ) couple times to "fill"it. Then might have enough brake power. Cheap to try.

Edit. As usual

Also, double check the one way valve function, and the grommet holding it in for leaks. They hiss when wiggled if old and loose .

cant hurt to try, and easy to find as well.

now that you mention it, i do hear a hiss sometimes when im on it.

wait, you are talking about the truck right? im old and hiss when wiggled.

Now that you mention it. I might have hissed just now.

Ok, I mean, grab the one way valve , and wiggle it. No hiss should happen, from the truck.

Chrysler uses a very simple add on electric vacuum pump for their booster assist. Might be worth adding one in somehow. Do they make vacuum cut off switches like an air compressor? Just throwing out ideas.

do you know what years, and models by chance?

Diesel super duties also have electric vacuum pump to run the dash
Diesel engines do not make vacuum
2000-04 superduty 7.3 vacuum pump

Can be wired and plumbed into your system they have auto shutoff when vacuum is reached
The only problem is ford no longer makes them and the aftermarket replacements last months not 200k miles like the oem Did

So I try to buy them in town with lifetime warranty

im trying to find what they came in. working at a scrap yard has its advantage. the auto wrecker comes to you, and the parts are FREE!

so the good. there is a f250 that one of the guys i work with (the other ford guy there lol) that has one stashed. however, he made a point. the electric pumps those came with operate stuff like heater vents, and the hubs. it might not be up to the task to run a brake booster with a canister.
maybe.
idk, anyone have ideas on what else came with electric vacuum pumps so i can watch for one hopefully come in at work?
