When this trans was installed, a new shifter kit was installed. If it needs replaced already, I will be perplexed, but not as much as other things on this rig has had me scratching my head. LOL!

Problem solved....

Figured it out, but not the way I thought I would!

The retaining clip on the pedal rod had popped off and the rod itself backed out. This caused the entire pedal assembly to shift to the left. The clutch pedal was hitting the push rod for the master slave coming thru the firewall. I caught it just in time, as the pedal almost fell off at 45mph!

Bonus mate! (not the 45 mph pedal bit :D)

Cool it being a simple fix!!!

Just read through all 72 page of this thread and wow. You're rig is an inspiration and I will certainly be stealing some ideas from you. Awesome, and sorry about the brake issues a while back, are they all good as of now?

Dang, quite the read here. So much has gone into this thread, even I have a hard time finding things in it. LOL!

Thanks for the kind words. :)

Brakes have been just fine.

Most likely going to end up using the steering box out of an F-150. Same as the one in the 1st gen EX, but I think it is a little beefier inside.

Greg, if it is the same as the old Fords(70-80's), find the Saginaw versions, which have four bolts on the top cover plate. Those are the same as used in all of NASCAR, very reliable and the aftermarket makes them better. It was a rare thing in an old Ford, but in all GM's, and I used one for my Ranchero, quick ratio etc, from AGR I believe.:salute:

Someone is having fun with there Explorer. Exciting times.

I was referring more to the mounting.

I used a 95' F-150 box and its perfect. From center to full lock is only 2 turns in either direction. Its the same as the first gen Explorer boxes but the Explorer box has a faster ratio so takes more steering wheel turns to turn the actual tires the same distance.

F-150 box has been great for me. :) Turns 37"s very nice!

I know there all the same boxes, but the internals are diff from vehicle to vehicle models.
the F & E series are a bit more stout then the smaller rigs & cars. This is the reason for wanting the F-150 model.

Jessi, the mount will be inside the frame with some plating added to the frame rails.
