The Turdle's Exhaust-(yeah revisited again)

I dunno what model it is
It is dual 2.25" inlet and single 3" outlet, also reversible flow

Flo-pro looks like a good deal from what Jamie has been saying. Where can such mufflers be found online cause I am looking for a couple myself.

BTW, which model do you use Jamie?

http://www.fle-online.com/Mufflers.asp

Online place--they take paypal

The rep at flo pro said if I used a y pipe, and a 3" single in and out, I would get better sound control--
He also wouldn't recommend an online store--he said "flo pro is all about the muffler shops"

Moving a bit slow -but i do have this

Nice Y pipe starting to come together yet?
Oh and BTW Nice sandals :p:
Edit: Just so you know i ran the hooker header muffler on my Z28 it had great sound dampening. now my brother runs it on his V6 firebird and it even makes that thing sound awsome. Just a thought, i was really impressed on their products.

Nice
I have those same Sandals hahaha seriously I do...Nunn Bush I believe...good sandals are hard to find!

So a Y pipe gives you better sound control according to the Flo Pro guy? hmmm.......

So you're gonna put the 2 factory O2s before the junction and your wideband just past?

I'm sure this is all custom. What kind of ballpark price are we talkin about for the Y-pipe? That'll be my next step too but I haven't got any quotes yet.

Well, I plan on new collectors-new cats, and all 4 o2 sensors.

but, I suppose it would allow me to get away with just one cat and mount the rear 02 sensors behind it--that is a thought--then I would have a bare y pipe that would remove easily-with only 2- o2 sensors in it-
The single cat could be downstream of the ball socket-with both rear 02 sensors mounted in the tube 180 degress from each other. Or I could just turn off the rear sensors in the tuning.

I do plan on putting the wideband bung right before the ball socket.
The pipe was made by a friend-

I would run one cat after the Y and just have your rear O2s turned off with your tune. That way you can run only 2 OEM O2s, the wideband and one cat. That'll save you the cost of 2 O2 sensors and 3 cats not to mention precious ground clearance due to the damn factory front catlyic location. Your tranny would probably thank you too!

ha ha-I was thinking right with you--look at my edit above lol:D

Haha, thats great.

Finally getting back to work on this after 2 years has made me catch the bug again..... I've been looking at AFR heads recently.... Anyone know if the Torque Monsters will bolt up to AFR heads? What about any aftermarket heads? I need to do some research on this. I know there are "P" specific headers for mustangs but I'm not sure if it the bolt pattern or just plug clearance.

So, jt, this friend of yours that made this Y-pipe, is he doing the collectors and everything too? Would he be willing to make a 2nd set? :D

I don't know about another pipe. I'll have to let you know

The headers I do know about though, as I have edelbrock heads-my Torquemonster headers are custom built for them. The gt40 heads are a bit unique. When you order your headers-be sure to tell Robert which heads you plan on using-and be sure to use those heads--
Also-remind him of the absence of a "head dimple" in the #5 tube joint flange area.

Dang. Just got a set of regular Torque Monsters too from another member on here and just got finished putting them on. Oh well, they'll hold me over for a while till I get new heads. AFR are nice and make good power but DAMN they're expensive. At least I can resell the Torque Monsters for almost what I paid for em. :P

when you want to see them send me a pm ;)

btw,
everyone! if you google it, and look at the innerworkings of a cat converter, you will realize it is IMPOSSIBLE for there to be such a thing as a high-flow cat! don't fall for that crap either!!!!

Say Brad, have you noticed the Pro Comp heads that are common on eBay? They claim to be from Australia, I have read China as their origin. They have normal Ford bolt patterns like the GT40's, and they have ports which are higher by about 1/2".

The big thing I learned hunting around was that like most imported heads many have or have had minor defects. I bookmarked a company who specializes in building heads, their forte is doing stock or stock like heads, including the GT40's through all FMS heads(the under 6000rpm heads). Their $600 charge covers all porting and assembly. I saved their website because they know how to work those imported heads, find and correct the defects.

Below is a link to a regular seller on eBay, I don't know anything about their knowledge in building them. The heads all come in bare, so the builder is critical.

Catalytic converters have a specific brick size inside of them, plus the hole/surface area. A higher flowing cat will have a brick which is shorter, wider and taller(more surface holed area), and/or less restrictive piping in or out. Stock cats are very restrictive, the best high flowing cats to date have smooth inlet/outlet pipes, you can see perfectly through them.
