The Turdle's Exhaust-(yeah revisited again)

My engine has quite a cackle, so the above muffler was tried to calm it. It did, but man is it huge!! Fine for the street, but, too low for where I want to go.
It was from a duramax diesel pickup.

Now I have this-and it sounds mean-
louder and bigger sounding, and, actually quieter on the highway-

Rear cats gone- Magnaflow dual in single out in their place , and a Hooker Aero chamber 3" in 3" out stacked right behind it.

Ohhhhhh, it sounds sooooo good!!

I am enjoying my Magnaflow 2.5" dual in and out on my truck, beats the hell out of the 40 series dumped with the spintech X-pipe.

At this point, I'm just waiting for the final install. I can't keep track of what's in and what's not in!

I think I'm going to leave mine stock for just a bit longer, and try to go to the short Borla's with a turbo in front of them.

I miss real country roads. That exhaust is good and subtle, just about right.

I think that's the perfect set-up. Not to loud but mean sounding. Good work.

Thanks-
Tom's Muffler in Chanute, Kansas hooked me up. All I have to do is display a decal-

The space between the shock and swaybar links doesn't allow them to bend 3" pipe in there,as they have a 4" die and the bends are 2.5" apart-
so they are getting me some 3" mandrel bends and fabbing a 3" tailpipe from it. It wil be a while, not in time for Ouray. This will be the final exhaust, Sheri even likes it.

This will be the final exhaust,

:D

On a side note, does it feel any slower in acceleration with those larger tires?
oh, thx for the sound clip sweet vid you posted

I've been putting off upgrading my own exhaust for a while now. But now because of this thread I'm going to do it... my Mom is going to kill me.

Anyways, I'm going to start my own thread in the Modified 91-94 as to not jack this one.

Thanks for the nudge.

That is the sound of a healthy motor.... Ahhh gotta love it.

I want everyone to understand, the sound you hear is unique. Unless you do some serious engine mods, your results will vary. I have this much noise, with 2 mufflers in series--

This is my truck idling with primary cats only-it is Very Loud!!

At the end of the vid is the duramax muffler I was running, and it sounded mean--
Look how HUGE!!

Now I have the right thread!!! :p:

sounds nice jon

That sounds really good, a lot better than the last muffler.

Jon's not lying when he said it's loud with just the cats, I've sat in it without a muffler and you can't even hear yourself think:D It was fun for little bit of time we spent in it, but I wouldn't want to drive it like that everyday.

I can't tell from the pictures, does that exit out the side or rear?

I can't tell from the pictures, does that exit out the side or rear?

Right behind the passenger tire-45 degrees away from the driver and 45 out the side-

Jon I had to buy a couple 3" SS mandrel bends to make it from the y-pipe that is right after my muffler to the exhaust tip which comes out in the stock location. The only thing I got real close to was the 5th shock and I am hoping it doesn't have to much movement!
