Yes

cause your pricetag (fair market value) is already over 5k

93liftedXLT said:once your 500ft -lbs of torque run out i hope you have that Top-end to keep up with that Honda..
Why

I'm not gonna need it in the 1/4 and that is what my last fox body and this one will be built for. Shift at 5500 and still have a gear left at the end. Well in my old coupe at least, but it would do 120 in 4th. No time slips, but a best time of 12.2 or something around there on street tires.

Had about 1500 under the hood (my cost, fair value closer to 2500) and another 500 into the chassis.

The CRX was also alot smaller than the current civics no.....and I did say civic... Regardless though my 'vert was recently weighed at the dump and weighed in at 3300 with Driver and a full tank of gas (on the door it does say 3600 though). I have done little to no weight reduction as of yet. My coupe weighed in at 2550 at the track. Most of the interior was gone (except carpet and my seat) and the hood and deck lid were fiberglass. Tubular K member, and of course all engine parts that I could exchange for aluminum I did. Point I would still put my coupe against ANY Honda running similar HP numbers and be confident in his demise.

I can always turbo my V8, add nitrous, etc
Hehee imagine a 302 with over 20 pounds of boost and the supporting mods to handle it

hahaha summed it all up for me there didn't you.

Anybody know what the 1/4 mile time for a stock civic is?
Stock Fox Mustangs run consistent mid to low 14's depending on model.
93 lifted, don't be offended, most of us just hate rice, and have been into performance automotive long enough to find it funny when one thinks they can build a 4 cylinder to more extreme levels than a V8. Sure you can make it fast as hell, but I can always make more power in a V8 with the same general modifications.....
In the end speed has a lot less to do with the engine and rather more to do with the chassis anyway. An area in which both vehicles are extremely lacking.
This thread originally asked if an X could beat a stock CIVIC. Your comment was to remind us that honda and acura now have 200 hp models in their line-up. My response is that my 15 year old bone stock convertible Mustang would spank one of the new Honda's......The rest well none of it is relevant to the question at hand, but makes for an entertaining debate.
Honda Civic to Ford Mustang is Like Honda Ridgeline to Ford Explorer Sport Track. Now which would you rather modify for offroad use. Or...which is more offroad worthy in its stock configuration.
See Honda's suck
