After only owning the Mustang for 1 month, I'm already missing the Explorer. I stopped by the guy's house that bought the X and he wants the Mustang now! To make a long story short, I might be getting my X back in a couple days and a nice chunk of change to go with it. In addition to that, he had new brakes installed all the way around, got the power window fixed, put vent shades on all of the windows, installed a bug shield, and bought headlight and tail light covers. WOOT!

I hope everything goes according to plan... I love Explorers and don't know why I even got rid of it in the first place.

He still needs a few days to gather all of the money. So far, everything looks good... only a matter of time.

Best of luck with getting your Ex back:thumbsup:

I talked to the guy again today and got some semi-good news. He said he and his wife want the 'Stang 100%, but they won't have the cash until sometime during the first week of July. I guess I get to play the waiting game a little longer.

Well, I can't handle this anymore... I called him again yesterday and his girlfriend told me he's been in jail and she's not sure when they'll be able to complete the deal.

I've never sold a vehicle on Ebay, but I'm strongly considering listing the Mustang so I can get back into an Explorer. From completed listing reasearch, I think I can clean up on this deal too. Honestly, if I sell it, I'm going to offer to buy back the Explorer for what they paid me and as long as the Mustang brings what others have been bringing, I'll have about double the cash that I would if they traded it back to me with the amount we agreed upon. They never drive it and don't even have insurance or license on it right now... it's a shame to let such a nice X rot away as grass grows around it. Anyway, I cleaned the Mustang up today since it was 90 and sunny and took some pics. They came out really nice. Does anyone have any experience with selling a vehicle on Ebay? What payment methods are the safest?

Well, the Stang has been on Ebay since Saturday. It has been viewed nearly 300 times so far, but still no bids... although there are quite a few watchers. I've been offered a 2006 PT Cruiser and a 1959 Galaxie in trade, but neither of them float my boat. I really want my Explorer back. I'd be extremely pleased if the bids reached $6000. I could buy the Explorer back, pay off a debt that I have, and still have a few hundred bucks left over for some kind of mod, lol.

Dang if that was a 5spd I would have strongly considered it. Good luck with the ebay sale.

Thanks.

This whole thing has been a rollercoaster of getting my hopes up and then having them crushed. An Ebayer sent a message today asking if I would be willing to enable a Buy it Now price of $5,000. I declined. Ten minutes later, I received a call from the guy that was in jail and has my old Explorer. He finally made it out of jail and said he'll have the cash this Saturday for sure whether he borrows it from family or sells his boat that he didn't want to. I told him the car was on Ebay and he swore to me that the deal would go down this time. As promising as he sounds, I'm leaving the car on for the time being. I can always pull the listing if he does pull through as long as 12 hours are left on the listing.

It's a shame you're so far away. I'd love to get my hands on a nice Mustang GT. I have a '97 Explorer XLT 4x4 with almost exactly 70k miles, and I love it, but I miss my Mustang I used to have. I totaled it being the stupid 18 year old that I am, and the resulting insurance money got me my current Explorer. But I still want a Mustang. I just don't have much money since I'm starting college and moving into an apartment and all that.

Good luck with everything!

Thanks for the comments everyone.

Get a load of this. On Wednesday night, I go on with business as usual... check forums, check auction, etc. What do I find? Ebay removed my listing and cited misrepresentation as the cause. I was furious and emailed them a lengthy explanation combating their accusations. They replied saying that I was right and that it was a mistake. Why is this crap happening to me? EL OH EL. I mean, come on Ebay, how do you drop the ball like that? I must be one in a million or something. Maybe I should go buy a lottery ticket. I had little more than 2 days left on the auction. I was up to 300+ viewers and 14 watchers. I had a pretty good thing going. Oh well, at least they refunded my money. I'm going to hold out before I relist to see if the trade for the Explorer happens. If not, back to Ebay I go.

Here's Ebay's official reply email:

So basically all you get is an apology and your fees credited.... nothing for your time wasted, no credit for future listing fee, oh thats fair.... NOT U may want to buy a lottery ticket! Who knows, maybe this will work out in your favor and you will get your Ex back. That would be nice.

I've thought it over and with my luck, I'd probably get pulled over for speeding or something in the Stang on my way to get the lottery ticket, lol.

As I mentioned in post #30, the guy with my old Explorer contacted me again. Well, this guy is officially under my skin. I spoke to him last night and he said to be at his house at noon today and we would definitely have the cash and we can trade. His girlfriend supposedly went to the bank to get the money, but hadn't made it home yet. Noon today rolls around and I'm at his house only to find that the money is in their account but the bank said there was a freeze on it so they can't use it yet. This is a bunch of crap. If he doesn't get back with me by tomorrow morning saying that he has the cash, I'm putting the 'Stang back on eBay. Sunday is supposed to be the best day to have an auction end anyway. I'll find another Explorer somewhere else...

Dont blame ya. Good Part, Lots of Explorers out there!

I just relisted the 'Stang about a half hour ago, so hopefully things will work out this time.

Well, it's 4 hours after I listed the car and I just got a call from the guy with the Explorer again, hahaha. He has half the cash right now and said he's working to get the rest. He's trying to borrow from family and he'll pay them back when the funds in his account clear. Meanwhile, the 'Stang is staying on Ebay until we complete the transaction... this guy has broken too many promises for me to get suckered into pulling my listing early only to have the deal fall through for the 50th time.

This Ebay stuff is a hassle. I just had to cancel some tool's bid on my car because he had 0 feedback and had bid on 70 vehicles in the last 30 days.

WoW, it is hard enought to private sale a vehicle without that kind of hassle. This may be a dumb question, but how do u check what a person has bid on? That is good info to have.
