Okay so I now have a 2002 Sport Trac, 4x4, Alpine white
114K miles
Looks good right?
WRONG Beat to crap LOL
I had helped my buddy purchase this truck about 4 years ago, he lost his job and could no longer afford the payments, so I had to take it back.
The truck was wrecked into a guardrail, it is now getting fixed at my mother in laws body shop, $4700 worth of damage! Holy cow!
the bad:
-$4700 damage from guardrail
-the SOHC has a slight rattle at start up and the trans has a 2-3 shift flare
-114K abused miles, not in my care!
-tensioner is dry/squeek
-oil changes were not kept up with
-front tires are almost bald, after wreck was driven for months before finally getting alignment
-windshield cracked
-side steps are rusted
- interior trim is peeling
- interior is trashed, stains, etc
this truck needs some serious LOVE (came to the right home!)
Plans:
truck will get a full detail from body shop, including complete removal of seats for cleaning
needs:
new tires, new interior trim kit, full tune up, trans flush, new fluids and filters
2" TT, warrior shackles out back
window tint
hodge podge stereo (this is our 4th truck for my wife and I so this trac will get hand me down radio stuff)
this sucker will make a nice toy hauler, family cruiser, back up truck to our explorer fleet! When the trans kicks the bucket this trac will be a 5.0L truck someday
I have ALWAYS wanted a Sport Trac, since they came out!
I didnt want to get one like this, we are making payments on this thing that we did not need, plus it was very sad to have to take her back from my best bud. Oh well she was meant to be ours I guess thank goodness for my wife or I would be in deep trouble with this truck, likely have to sell my 96 to make the payments......and that would SUCK since I built my 96 custom
Now the big question is:
will a 600cc 136 track snowmobile fit in the bed of a sport trac with the gate down?
114K miles
