How much are you narrowing the bed by? That's gonna look crazy - wide front and skinny back.

Is the steering the only thing left on the front? Or are the superior shafts for the front?

About 8" per side. And i'm not running the fiberglass anymore, so it won't be so wide up front. Just sold them

Yes, the steering, brake lines and shocks are all thats left up front.

The superior shafts are for the rear, they have a 6 x5.5 flange to match the front.

Thats a sweet set-up too.

I am going to have alot of shiat in the bed, so i want to keep it. Well at least for now...

EDIT: That thing has a nasty shackle angle!

looking good. Sure looks like it will be pretty tall though. I am planning on a flat bed very similar to the one on the toyota when I get around to it.

Yes it is very tall, but the body lift is coming out so that'll sit her down about perfect height.

What did you use for the crossmember for the front hangers? Flat stock? Doesn't look like they sit very far down from the frame.

2x2 3/8" square tubing.

I didn't want them to sit far from the frame, for better approach angles.

But the drawback to this is more castor angle.

Didnt relize you had a bodylift. taken out 3" will make it look much better.

are you converting the rearend to 6 lug like the front ?

In post 102, he said that he has some superior shafts on the way which will convert his 8.8 to 6 on 5.5. ;)

i knew that...

Nice! Just wondering why you didn't just swap in some 5x5.5 discs from a Ford onto the D44 and use adapters for the rear? It would have been an easier and more economical swap.

^^I doubt it. It would probably end up being atleast as expensive as his way(considering a nice set of adapters is about 120 total, rotors are about 60 total, etc), plus he'd still have stock shafts. ;)

Why not do 6-lug? I was going to get superior shafts anyways, and it was alot less to get the 6-lug flanges than to buy 5 lug stuff for the front.

(I had already bought knuckles etc right when i got the axle)

i did the opposite i converted my front 6 lug to 5 lug and it was pricey, in hindsight i would have gone with 6 lug rear but what ever. my conversion was more expensive cause im using all new parts, brand new spindles, rotor/hub assembly.... so eventually i figure ill move up to 1 ton so its not really a big deal

YEah, the 6-lug rear is a cheaper swap than a 5 lug front.

Call dutchman and price thoes rear shafts, not as much as you would think

where did you order the shafts from and how much were they ? after everything is put together and you get the truck drivable you should put a list on here with all the prices.

Dutchman is where they came from
I'll let him post what he paid if he wants too.

Call them, its not that expensive, think... you are getting alloy axles PLUS teh right bolt pattern, but don't forget you have to machine your rotors for the 6-lug also
