Yeah, whats the deal?

A BIG BIG thanks to TheRookie for letting me use a superb welder!! Also to Ben for getting me in touch with the right people ;)

Looks like I'm driving back home to MD tonight :D - WHEW!

No problem.. Benefits of having members who are near Hazleton.. Many of times I've gone wheeling and broken down at Paragon.. Atleast you didn't break down in the middle of winter like I did last year.. My alternator went up after wheeling with Chris. Nothing like getting a cold afterwards and then having to swap the alternator compliments of Rookie later the next day.

IZ are you posting from some hopped-up cell phone or what?

He's posting from a hotel..

No prob IZ. Glad to help out a fellow wheeler.

After seeing your truck in person I gotta say its nice. Definately BIG, I am amazed you didnt get stopped in hazleton with the tires sticking out to such an extreme.

GREAT job on the rig. Its nice to see people doing things different than the norm. Hope to wheel with you sometime soon.

Well I'm finally back home - ran the night to try to avoid the coppers :D.

So I guess its time to catch up on the replies...

Yes they must be recharged every few months (2 or 3).

Hehe yeah but no worries :D . I did hit the differential on a rock once and stopped the vehicle dead. Fortunately the rock hit right beside the bottom bolt so just minor scrape marks and a tiny dent.

Yeah I promised Skunk and Rookie that I would wheel with them sometime :D . And I was informed that there were endless trails outside of the Paragon domain -- cant wait :D

Yeah I was posting from a hotel.. the wi-fi signal during the day was really good, but then all of the sudden it went crap and even the google homepage took almost a minute to load.

Thank you VERRRYY much and please thank Skunk for me. You guys are a life saver!

Yeah I too am amazed that I didn't get pulled over from basically DC, to Hazleton, and back to DC again. Of course the drives were always in the wee hours of the night/morning but still :D

So the 2nd day at Paragon was spent mostly doing little trails and stuff.. playing at rock piles and rock gardens, and doing two hill climbs (ascents were very nice, slow and under control thanks to the detroit locker - just a small touch on the gas pedal in 4LO was all it took)..

But then there was this cravace.. and my what a cravace it was!

paragon_14.jpg

So the situation was theeeeck -- couldnt back up or else the vehicle would basically roll over because of how the rear was pulling, couldnt go forward straight or right because the rear axle was swinging right inducing more roll. So the logical choice was to get out via left wall bringing the right rear over the ledge of the cravace

Unfortunately not having a front locker only got me so far up the left wall so it was time to winch

Good grief!!!! Flex anyone???

Definitely time for a front locker install. It makes all the difference in the world, believe me.

did you max the shock out? or did you have a couple more inches. either way that is some serious flex

Wow. I want airshocks now.

So what did you break?

I believe he broke the panhard/track bar mount or something.. If he wasn't coil, he could have driven home (yeah right)

Once I get my rig fixed, we'll have to go out with Chris & Rookie.. Like Rookie & Chris said, there are tons of trails outside of Paragon. Just make sure Lindsy isn't guiding.. You'll end up calling someone at 2 am describing the trail or being stuck and needing a winch.

The limit strap were maxed at that point - which were set to stop the axle about half an inch before a shock full drooped.
So what did you break?
The panhard mount started to rip the frame rail. Also, the inner knuckle or "C" broke lose on the driver's side <-- not good. So in the next week or so, I'm going to tear down the entire thing and do some modifications.
