Sounds like a great idea:thumbsup:

I think the trail Brian took us on from our campsite to Ocotillo was a great beginner trail. My friends who were newbies to wheeling had great time on that trail. It was was the stuff we got into at T-haven that was to much for them to handle, at least for their first time out...plus Tom's rollover didn't help their confidence much:p:
I was just browsing through the old posts on this thread and saw this. I thought your friends did fine on day two of that trip. The rollover was just a little much, I admit for me too. I could have done without that six hour detour, and so could the Chief of the Fakawee's. They thinking of coming out this trip? They were good people. I will make up a CD of all the pics I took of them on the trail.

I will certainly ask them, they live up in Bishop so trips down to So Cal are few and far between except to visit family in Orange County.
I thought they did good too and even though we weren't into anything hardcore at the time of Tom's unfortunate rollover, it just goes to show anything can happen at anytime. If anything they saw how prepared you need to be to get out of the situation, i.e. winches, tow straps, attatchment points, etc. It can still rattle your nerves seeing a rollover whether it be your 1st or 10th. That reminds me, i need to buid a cage in the near future:p:

Tbars was trying to get me to sign up for this trip. I would love to go, it is still a little far in advance to commit so i'll just sit back and wait, but there's a good chance ill go.

I'm only 2wd, when you say newby trails, are those easy enough for 2wd too? I know that ocotillo is not too far either. i would also have no problem riding along in a 4wd rig to get some experience there.

And rick...are you allowed to bring a guest to SEMA?? ;) ive always wanted to go

2wd drives do fine. I'll be out there.

So Can we make this a official thread? Oct..20-21st coming up fast;)

i could bring the CNG explorer and let anyone have a try in a stock truck.

cyber, buy the bug so i can get the bronco on the road by oct!
