wow..... thats really all i have to say to this long @$$ thread lol do we have a dyno test lined up in the near future....after page 435436132 i skimmed over things and have yet to see any kind of results...forgive me if i've overlooked. Gl with your quest :)


No, no results this far that I can prove to anyone.

Yes, the plan is to dyno the thing and see what i've accomplished.

JAH81592 is the guy that's gonna tune it and Doug (The guy everyone gets their mail order tunes) will be where we go for the dyno. My goal is to have this done by the end of FEB. My major obstacle as of now is my wife. Imagine telling your "other half", that doesn't agree with what you're doing, that you're driving 12 hours to get a tune. yeah, it doesn't go over to well...

Why are you "asking the wife anything? Just "inform" her what your doing and leave things at that. My wife may or may not agree with what I am doing at times but I sure as heck never clear things through her.

Also, just remember the old adage, "It is much easier to ask for forgiveness than request permission."
 






Rocket - that's exactly what I've started doing. She didn't know about the slotted rotors I had coming in for the last week until yesterday.

I'm glad that you got the dampner done, and it's good to hear that there is an alternator overdrive pulley out. I'm just getting my 99 SOHC mail vehicle running, and fuel mileag and cooling are big issues for me.

Say Al, what affect did you notice on your city mileage, if you could tell? Regards,
 






After Camber adjusters, Body bushings, rear sway bar, and brakes are complete, I'll be posting baseline dyno numbers. First things first. Must be safe!

Yeah, I admit I've sort-of-not followed everything I said I was going to do. It's not cuss I'm a BS'R, it's because I've learnd a HELL of a lot along the way. Some of my plan got changed because of what I learned, some of got changed because of other things coming up.

It's like this; every since the E-FAN install, I have not been able to actually go faster. The reason why is traction. Maybe I'm faster from a rolling start but off the line, it's nothing anymore. So, this is something I didn't think about from the beginning. I've decided to let James fix this for me when I get tuned. But, if I'm going to make a 1200 mile trip to see him, I need the darn thing to drive good. So, I'm upgrading the rotors, suspension, and steering. The rotors are on the way (It's taking forever). Next will be a new rear sway bar and upgrade the front bushings and end-links. Then some transmission upgrades. Then I'll order the headers from James and finially make my way to Alabama for the tune and the dyno numbers that I've promised since day one. And I'll be real honest, If I hadn't of promised, in this forum, I wouldn't be doing this anymore. My goal is not really "High dyno numbers", it's a faster X. One of the reasons I started this was to put a pc of tape over someones mouth, now I'm finishing the goal and I can't put the tape over the guys mought cuss he got kicked out of the forum. I Really think it was on purpose too because he finally realized I was going to make a fool out of him.


And yes, this is just a bolt on project so far. However, I will go force feed after I'm done. I'm addicted and there's no turning back now.

4000rpms at 2 mph is fun for only so long--

I have been fighting to get my truck back to where it was in early December.
I was planning a bit of excitement for y'all, the heater core and fuel pump was a setback. It will have to wait a bit.

For now--we have to go -for-slo

Okay - I spontaneously ordered a XCAL 2 yesterday.


Good buy. You will like the Xcal2.

Who did you get it through? I would reccomend that you make sure that the tuner does not give give you all three tunes right away. Tell them to make you one tune for your stuff you have now and then save the other two tunes for when you have put other larger mods on there. Then just call that person up and tell them you want a second tune for "blahblahblah"... It ends up working better than just getting all three at once and only really using one of them. Just a little advice. ;)
