my brother lost to an 18 wheeler w/o the trailer,so i guess its a 10 wheeler. my bro was actually tryin to keep up. his truck is running on 3 cylinders right now and it was bogging down. the semi truck was pulling away. it was too funny

I'll tell you though: I am never happier than at the end of the day when I can hop in my explorer and go tearing down the highway with tons of power on tap-- rather than banging my head on the steering wheel of the rig and chanting "I think I can, I think I can, I think I can" at every steep incline....

Oh yeah, and everyone on this board can add my Zuk to their kill list. Wide open, held in 4th gear it might hit 72 on a flat straightaway. 0-60 time is measured in minutes, not seconds. It can actually chirp the tires in first gear if I try hard. It has a whopping 65 hp!!

Ok, today I had my first real street race. I was minding my own business on my way home from work today and noticed a spankin new Mustang GT waiting to turn out. I had seen this guy in the past tearin ass around town, so when I went by him I romped it. He had to wait a little to turn out so I slowed down and waited for him to catch up. He caught up and I romped it again and he stayed on my bumper. The I turned and so did he. He fish-tailed around the turn in the gravel and I was on it and so was he and he wasnt gaining, but wasnt losing ground either. We came to a stop sign and I sat there for a sec and slowly turned out and he stayed right behind me, then I hit it and it was on good. I pulled away a little and then it was dead even. After that I pulled over and put my window down and he pulled up along side and the first thing he said was "Is that really an SVT Explorer?" (for those of you that dont know, I have an SVT emblem on the back in place of the XLT). I said no and he said that it rips pretty good. I asked if he was giving it all he had and he said pretty much. Then he said he has a 0-60 time of 5.4 sec and that I'm damn close if not the same. I know that my 0-60 time is not near that, but maybe hes lying then because I pulled on him at first.

Im not sure what year it was but it was a maroon convertable, newer body style and said GT on the fender. It had the bullet wheels on it. I couldnt see if it was a manual or not, but I think it is. What are the specs on this?

And just for the record, I didnt go any faster than 70MPH and it was all done on back roads that I know really good.

Sweet! Put that dude in his place for not knowing how to drive. I think it's so pathetic that people buy sports cars and don't know how to shift,you gun it, press the clutch, shift...is that so hard lol. He musta been one of those guys who believes in "double clutching" .

If he did know how to drive, you could have a 75-100 shot of nitrous on your truck and he'd still waste you. A vert even with an auto will easily pull of 14.5-14.7 in the 1/4. A 75 shot of NOS on a 5.0 Explorer will put it in around low to mid 15's as James said he ran that.

I've messed around with my friends GT and he'll spank me hard no matter what in our 5.0 Mounty. I messed with my other friend driving his 03' Cobra with mods and got my azz handed to me very badly but I expected that .

As for specs a vert with auto will easily pull a 6 second 0-60 time with a 1/4 in 14.7

A gt with a 5 speed and good driver can easily pull a 13.9 in 1/4 and a 14.2 for a vert. With 0-60 times in the 5-5.4 range. Really depends on drivers, as some seriously suck...like the dude you ran into

Ive never heard of a vert. I just thought it was funny when he asked me if it was really an SVT. All I know is my gas gauge was showing 3/4 tank when we started messing around and about 1/2 tank when we were done, LOL.

I love Mustangs and I find it an insult when people can't drive them, I mean, how hard is it to shift and launch, not hard at all.

I had no problem driving my friends 03' Cobra at the strip the 1st time I drove it there.

If it was an auto, thats even more sorry, all you do is floor it and thats it.

As for mustang owners who can't drive, i love em! One night while crusing downtown i ran into a 99 Cobra Vert, and because of all the traffic we had downtown we kept passing each other, and had plenty of time to talk. He told me had a custom X pipe with a short throw a Vortec blower and a chip, the exhaust sounded really good too! But anyways after getting out of the downtown area, traffic cleared up and we arrived at a light. Still talking as i asked if he would run me. He said sure, so i sit there and rev up to about 3k and he sits at idle. Light goes, and i jump really good, i dunno what happened then but i just pulled on him. I figured traction. We get to the next light and he was mad as hell! He revs up too, and the light drops, i got anxious and spun too, but i caught traction a wee bit before him and we stayed dead even. At this point i figure BS on the blower cuz i couldn't here anything and it just wasn't pulling on me. After that i was shaking with joy, and decided i better cool it since we were comming up to anoter cruising spot where traffic would be plenty so i cooled it. Needless to say he pulled up and wanted to know what i had done. I told him my short list of things and he gave me a dumb founded luck and jetted away. As he went over the hill i saw he IRS and knew it was a 99 Cobra with exhaust, thats all i could confirm tho.

If not, read it, f'n hilarious this kid has a fetish for *********** and appears to be gay by his many comments referring to "homos" (don't mean that as an offense to anyone on here who is gay). Anwayz, he knows nothing about cars in the 1st place, but wanted to put caps on his car.......you probably even know (owning a GT) how horrible his car would sound.....everyone on Stangnet on that thread kept telling him he'll be loud but not in a good way, he'd end up sounding like a very farty farty, burping fart can. Course he doesn't see anything wrong with that for some reason

Im on stangnet all the time, i just dont tour too far out of the 4.6 modular forum, but ill check the SVT section. The worst part about all of it was he claimed it to be his 33rd mustang, i mean this guy was probably between 30 and 40 and wether it was his 1st or 30th mustang he couldn't drive. As they say some people just have more money then since. Ill go add my .02 to the svt forum now

Hmmm, the only car that I have actually raced from a stoplight was a maybe 95 Civic hatchback, it had the typical loud exhaust, and thats all i could tell. My EX is a 92 5spd, all it has is a Thrust muffler and a drilled airbox. Ok anyway i destroyed this kid. it was so so sad, especially since i had 3 other people in the car. we were on the way home from mudding and well this kid was pretty mad when a beat muddy SUV destroyed him. But i have been beat many times, mostly just my brother racing me, he has a 2000 mustang 5spd, bunch of crap done to it, t-loc, dual custom flowmasters, short shifter, bbk cold air, throttle body spacer, diablo chip I think, and some other misc stuff. he of course killed me, pretty easily. oh well, not bad for a beat up explorer.
