Does everybody have their ducks in a row for lodging? Anyone have a spare GPS I can borrow? :D Seriously, broke my crackerjack compass! I cant eat anymore trying to find a new one! AACK!

On another note, I found some nice Hawaiian shirts to go with my swim trunks. Having a hard time finding a straw hat I like. Looks like the standby Margaritaville hat will have to do.:smokinfro

Cracker Jacks don't have a compass in them anymore, that might be why ur having trouble finding one, but they sure taste good!!! Getting psyced(sp) for the trip, thanks for the invite to the run Gregg!!! I am bringing my compass, will pick up maps when I get there, can't teach an old dog new tricks:p:

You taking a laptop? If so you can pick up cheep Earthmate off of e-bay. I have most all of the trails mapped on Delorme Topo 4.0 and could hook you up with the the tracks.

So , So happy, drove the explorer around town today, had some issues, but now fixed, running pretty dang good, its acceptable, now time to tie up some interior and other minor stuff, but should be ready no problem. !
Greg I may have spare GPS you can use, I have one in my vehicle also.

I am bringing the laptop, but, I wont have a wireless card for it. Having the maps on it to where I could look at them would be cool.

Terrific Brad! I knew you could do it, your the MAN! :notworthy You got one of the big dawgs of the bunch now. If you really have a GPS I could use, that would be so fantastic! Much better to keep both hands and eyes to the road with one of those. God knows,I need to pay attention out there..lol.!:help:

No need for a wireless card to navigate or map. But they are nice. The Delorme software has the maps on laptop and the Earthmate hooks to your laptop. When it is all up and running a green dot shows up on the screen and that is you. When you move it turns into a green arrow and shows where you go. For about $50 you can get a LT-40 and software. I can e-mail you the tracks. The LT-20 can be had for even less but it is slower and less accurate.

If Brads gps has a cable to connect to your laptop it will work as well.

GPS?

These trails are very well marked/obvious.

Besides, I'm following someone - I don't need to know where we are!

Last time I was there two guys on motorcycles came up to us at the overlook on the west side of Engineer. They had come up from 550 and were looking for California Pass and wanted to take Corkscrew back. I headed them the correct way but never fould out if they made it or not. I tried to show them on the laptop.

Just don't loose contact with the folks who know where they are.:D

Uncle mike, have a look at this. click on all the diff names of trails, you will get a ton of info. I don't think there are any charges, nobody has mentioned anything like that, that I know of.

None of the trails listed have any user fees. I'd post a map of what I have but I've maxed out on what I have posted. If you'd like a map I can send you one. Just send me an e-mail.

Phillip will have a gps out there too, he just got it today. Anyone know of any site with the waypoints listed so he can program some in before he leaves?

I have the Delorme track files if he has a way to load them.

The book by Charles Wells even has the gps coordinates for a lot of the waypoints along the trails in his book.
