Wel I finally got home at 9pm after being detoured by the fire and having to drop off the trailer and my rider.
I had the most fun I have had in a long time. I can't wait till I can do it again. It was really nice to meet everyone. I got to see some really nice rigs and I found out that my Rig can make it up a 45* angle with a lil speed
.
I did get a lil carnage out there. I broke a brake line because my shock came loose and my limit trape was about an inch too long on the one side
. I got a nice new dent on my pass front rocker panel and a nice scrape on my drivers doors. I did ram a wall with my back bumper because it made me mad hehe
I am very surprised on how well my rig did going 70mph down the wash acrossed the woops and all the rocks in there.
Man that thing is a BEAST
I knew it could handle some speed on dirt but it road like it was on air bags.
Some how I still haven't broken my Auto hubs on my truck.
Danny Boy is by far the craziest one out there. Crawling up a vertical wall to climb over it.
I did fallow him through a few things but I had to stop because I know I would break my rig if I tried.
:
A BIG thanks to Maniak for the replacement brake line. It made a world of difference having brakes
hehe.
And thanks to Tbars for pulling me out of the sand in camp. Of course I had to be the first stuck in camp.
I almost didn't make it home because I had to detour around Palomar mountain and people were riding their brakes all the way down.
So I had to keep hitting my brakes with the trailer behind me and I started to get brake fade and once I was able to pull over at the bottum my front end was smoking so bad I had to spray it with a hose that was infront of the mexican resterant that I stoped at.
I hate people that don't know how to drive.
Well I gues I have had made the biggest bon fire so far.
man that wood went up fast. I almost had the trailer buning. I had to get it out of there as fast as possible. I moved it out so fast I forgot to lock the tung and almost poped it right off.
LOL
I have some pics but I need to up load them.

My album is here:

But big thanks to Froader for letting me and my brother ride with him for the weekend, to Paul for letting us use his grill, and to everyone else for the unforgettable experience!!
Here are a few interesting or scenery shots just to show what THaven is like (for those who havent been, like me):
Endlessssssness (Stic-O's rig):
Hub-breaking-nesss (R.J. getting ready to be winched back after breaking a hub):
Tbar4's dog, to whom you have to get permission from in order to go wheeling:
Mmm... yummmy:
This picture doesnt do justice as to how steep this face is -- RockRanger:
Nice 'n tight.. verryy niiice (Froader):
R.J. .. world renowned BMX superstar:
Scariest thing at THaven, the narrow and very steep ridges (me walking the ridge cauz I was too scared to ride):
This stuff is scary son! (RockRanger and BKennedy at the top)
Ahhh the rolling hotels back at camp:
BKennedy snaking between the canyon walls:
Trenches everywhere!! (Char and Rick making a wrong turn!)
Niiice:
Telling you man, these things are steep!
The highway (wash out by camp):
Slippery slopes (Froader's recovery

Yes, it is that steep (Tbars entering a descend, Boomer's dad finishing):
Our waypoint through the trenches:

I am sure glad we left when we did or we would still be on the road. That fire has now split and blocked two of the ways to get back to San Diego. Ramona has mandatory evacuations for the whole town.

Yeah I made it through right when they started kicking everyone out of Santa Ysabel. I wasn't sure how to get back because I have never gone that way before till this weekend. I was lucky that someone told me I could get back on the 76. I just wish that trailer had brakes on it.
I just hope everyone gets out ok because I have two family friends that live out there and one of them is a felow 4x4er.

...i have to say having izwack show up as a special guest was truly a great surprise...i had a blast meeting everyone that i have chatted with before and getting to check out all the different rigs and to see the different setups on all of them...
...i was happy to see that all the repairs and mods i just did to my truck worked out as my truck performed better than expected...froader made sure my truck was put thru it's paces and that my new pretty sliders got broke in proper and he had a big smile doing it...
...my dog had a total blast and was totally spoiled...she's ready for the next run as she has been sleeping pretty much since we left truckhaven...
...my carnage was way minimal...front bumper and headlight hit, rear broken backup lite mushed but it was the already broken one, the infamous mark under the rear side glass, good side mirror smack with no breakage in fact i can now fold it in, and the new tires are keepers...now to round up a few more goodyear mt/r's...
...truck haven seems to have it all and i think the campsite location was perfect...if anyone didn't get a pic of their rig there, hit me up...i am waiting to see some videos and more pics of my truck in action as i might have a new avatar from this trip...
...thank you to everyone and i really must add, this is probably the nicest group of people i have ever had the pleasure to run with...

Great pics!!! I really like the sequence going up to the calcite mine.
I'm glad to hear everyone made it home ok. Our ride was pretty good. We had cross winds all the way home and I had to keep the steering wheel was turned quite a bit just to keep the rig going straight down the road.
I hope the fires aren't affecting anyone's property from the site. It sure looks bad

Actually, Matt's new house is in Ramona, which had mandatory evacuation last night.I hope the fires aren't affecting anyone's property from the site. It sure looks bad![]()
There's 8 fires right now in SD county, and officials are saying this will be worse than 4 years ago, when Matt lost his last house!

According to the news reports, its about five miles from our house, again. But its all houses between us and the fire so I don't think it can make it here. I can't believe we have to go through this crap again so soon after the Ceder Fire. Matt and Tracy live in Ramona, which all 35,000 residents had to evacuate. The fire is not in their area, but north of their house right now. My parents are getting ready to evacuate from the San Dieguito river area of Del Mar, which is straight west of Lake Hodges. The fire already went through Lake Hodges area south of Escondido. I went and checked on the horse and she seems fine. Already made arraingments with the ranch people to take Lady with their horses if they have to leave. I have to stay home with Sarah today because the school is closed.I hope the fires aren't affecting anyone's property from the site. It sure looks bad![]()

While we are on the subject of fires. The campfire Saturday night was the biggest yet, BUT... next time save some wood for after the night run

Got to my parents house yesterday and dropped the ranger and trailer. I grabbed about an hour of sleep then went to my place in Ramona. I had to go around which took 2 hours instead of 45 min. Once I got to my house I loaded stuff up and then Tracy and I left. It took 4 hours to get from my driveway to lakeside ( about 13 miles). Got back to my parents house around 3 am.
Haven't had a chance to look at the pictures that we took of the trip.
Also Tracy and I got engaged out at Truckhaven this weekend

Well my school is closed and I talked to my instructor this morning and the fire was with in site of his house when he evacuated this morning. He went out side and the vacume from the fire was so strong t started to suck him toward it. He lives in the estates above poway high school.
My friend next to poway had to be evacuated out of Ranch Penesquitos. I can't believe this is happening again. There is over a thousand people at the Mira Mesa high school 2 blocks away from me.
The air is so bad here it is making it hard to breath.
