Well, I am thinking I am going to get a winch bumper and winch with my tax money. Since I'm locked now its only a matter of time before I will be wishing for one and not having it, might as well do it before I am impossibly stuck.

Since I have no fabrication skills, no welder, and no shop, I'll be buying one. Which do you think is a better one to get? The one made by BBP here Or the RLC one here Or another option I am not aware of?

I was looking at the same thing today and i like the second one better it just looks stronger in my opinon. But I dont like the way tow rings are off at an angle. so my solution was to make a copy of it and make it stronger if possible because i have the resources. My votw would be for the second one though

My vote is for the RLC bumper. I noticed he mentioned he would maybe make a similar bumper to 1st gen specs. Anyone know if that idea has come to fruition?

i like the ones by bbp as i have seen some of the products he has made for the govt. contracts he had, potsy makes quality products and he will stand behind them. But thats just me

the ex in those pics is mine and i have fully tested that bumper. i have winched the ex out of a foot+ of sticky muck, and helped a few buddies out of jams. i currently need a new paint job b/c of trees and rocks and have not had a problem. james is a good guy with a good product. he will work with you on some aspects of design as well. my 2 pennies

I like the looks of the RLC bumper too. But anybody making parts for the 2nd gen. Ex isn't too bad.

Tim

I think I am liking the RLC one a little better, and its $450 shipped on ebay right now. I am thinking powder coating the same shade of grey that my trim is. AND I know just the guy to hire for that job. ;) I'll have to get a hold of the guy at RLC and see if he can change the brackets. It comes stock, and 2" body lift. I wonder if there is room to make stock and 3" body lift holes in it...?

i want to see pics when its done lol

Ive been thinking the same thing... I have a 3" BL too and i like the RLC one better

i like the rlc. i'm also curious about getting the brackets modified for a 3" BL. i wonder if there's a way to bring ends in a little bit?

from what the ad reads it sounds like he makes them when ordered so I think he could modify for most any request. Send him a message and see.

Just did, waiting for the reply. And also for my tax return. :)

Well he (RLC Guy) said that he could make it stock height and 2 1/2" body lift. The brackets don't have enough room on them, and putting the holes too close to the edge would be bad for obvious reasons. I think I can live with a 1/2" gap.

I like the bbp better personally. Have you looked at the hanson offroad jeep bumpers? Made for jeep but you could change the brackets?
