I have a question for you. I was reading a bunch of old threads about SOA trying to figure out the correct method for positioning the new perches. What are you going to do? Just level it to old perches? Was your 9" SUA? Or is it SOA and the current perches are too wide?

first of all the rear is Bronco 8.8, not a 9". Origanlly, I was going to move the springs to the outside of the frame. The bronco perchs, would have lined up perfect. But in trying to save some time and money, we desided to just leave the springs where they are for now. The new perchs are so close that, we now have to notch the ones that were on there. I should have just cut them off , but I was going to try to use them later on. We been maily going by the pinion angle, and seeing what it looks like at flex, and normal ride height. I really wish I new the factory degree setting for the perches. I think we will just make them the same as the factory ones, because I have some factory lift wedges I can throw back in if needed. although, they were raising the susp, by a inch or so, in the above pics.

I knew it was a big-boy 8.8". :D I must have just rounded up. :p

to anwser your questions above....that I didn't do

Yes the bronco had a SOA

The Bronco springs are the same width as the Explorer. 2.5" ;)

You going to go with a CV style rear driveshaft? Even so that pinion angle looks too high. I hope you haven't welded on the spring perches yet.

nope, havn't welded the perches yet ;) Were going to wait till the front is level and almost done till we do.

I think I may just get a longer yoke for now, when we jacked up the back, the driveshaft came apart in the middle. We then did some mesurments, at about full droop, I only have 1/2" left on the splines inside, and the driveshaft starts to feel wobbly :(

do you need some lifted coil springs for mock-ups? you can have mine. they are eibach 5.5's

Day 12

Today was not much was done, it was just one of those days  Started out the bench grinder broke, had to pull it abart and fix it, then I discoverd I forgot all about the Brake plates for the 44, so went and dug them out, and then spent the next few hours tryin to get the old spindale that was mushroomed on to it. Then tord the end of the day after getting the rest of stuff painted, when we went to put the new u-joints in the shafts, we blu the top flat half of a cap off and Spicer joint when triyng to get the clips in. Also noticed I was missing the outer axle slingers  , after that we said that it for today :(

Pilot: I got some but, thanks ;)

Day 13: Work goes on hiateus

Well once again not much work done. Mosly due to lack of money. I'm missing a few parts to put the rest of the axle together. My wife Graduates next weekend and we are having a huge party for her which as kinda of taken priority of the cash for a little while. Our next build time will not be until Memorial day weekend (tommorow Mom day, and next weekend is all about the wife), but then it should come together quite quickly. I will make a final parts list and get everything ordered this week. I do have some nice tasty pictures I'll put up later though ;)

That probally pretty close to her ride height. She sits at about 6' 8" right now. ;) and I will have 12" of clearance, under the axles with the 35's
