Burns, i take it your not locked yet?

i could see a locked truck getting stuck in that. he was up to the diff in mud... but good question, are you locked? (this will depend how jealous i am)

no i am not locked yet i cant decide to do sliders and a cage or get air lockers lol
it goes good for no lockers it is open on both ends

how about a rear locker and sliders :)
then later front locker and cage

what 410 said. lockers are amazing. i thought my truck did pretty good with open diffs, until i got it locked and kept up with heeps on 35's.

i really dont know much about lockers i know air lockers are expensive and i really dont know about anymore opions. what is the good stuff. i dont want to have to keep fixing a crappy locker. its gettin new rear outter seals and bearings this weekend

detroit lockers. Doesnt detroit have a new electric detroit locker?

Ive had a detroit, couple lock rights, and now have one aussie in with another waiting to be installed. All of them have worked well for me. However if you do alot of icy snow driving full time lockers can make it interesting.

i personally havent had alot of luck with the powertrax no-slips. it could be the guy that installed them messed up (like shaving the damn pin  ) or i got that 1 in a 1000 defective product. but when they do cooperate, i love em. my front worked flawless for over half a year then would suddenly not unlock anymore. the back has pretty much been messed up from day one when the guy shaved the pin. i put a whole pin in and shaved a gear tooth, and it helped a little. i'm hoping putting a new spring pack in will fix it for good. thats what i'm doing with the front. so we'll see sooon if new springs will make it lock and unlock properly again.

but what i'm gettin at is my next lockers will be selectable. i'll most likely go with an electric one or the ox looks pretty good since it is cable selectable and not air or electric. as far as i know, they only make the ox locker for the d44 high pinion, but i could be wrong on that. i havent investigated them deeply. oh and they come with a beefy diff cover.

it kind of comes down to budget tho. i hear good things about the aussie, like i heard good things about the no-slip. but the no-slip has kind of let me down. lunchboxes are 3-400 and selectables are 700+ (and dont forget that arb's need the onboard compressor too (but you usually get a free compressor when you purchase 2 lockers))

edit: selectables also replace your carrier, so you have to get your gears set up again. so if you dont know how to do them, or dont have a friend that will do them, it gets expensive to add them after you already have your gears set up.

Im planning on welding/spooling my 9" when its in and going with a selectable front (Ox or ARB, not electric locker)

Hell, a spool is much cheaper, 100x stronger and matnience free. Then you have some more cash for sliders/cage. But IMO, a front locker is more important than sliders or cage. Acually, i think its almost more important than a rear locker

not with 2 solid axles it's not... unless you drive up hills in reverse... a very important time to have a locker is when going up hills and all the weight of the vehicle is on the rear tires then...

I agree. The rear axle does much more work and if I could only have one locker it would be the rear. On most trails I rarely need to engage my front ARB, but when it's locked it works like nothing else.

i have a mini spool for the rear but with all the road driving we decided not to put it in because it would be locked all the time and the rear tires would scoot when making a turn and therefore making the tires last less.

I anyone of u have heard of carster.com u know its ok but if u have not u should at least check it out. it is a myspace for your car. u can challange other trucks, suv and cars to a challange where the people vote for there favorite. check me out

I would get an automatic locker like an aussie or something similar then... its cheap(~$200) and you hardly know its there while on-road after getting used to it
