3800 M90 Build

Dono does the electric fan make a big difference? It would be the only power adder I believe I have left?!?!?

Umm i run one and think it adds a little. especially with us with belt driven sc.the less strain on the belt the better.do you run ac?

I don't use my A/C but I'm not gonna do anything to remove it either. My main supercharger bracket lays on top of the A/C unit!

Honestly, I don't think it made much of a difference for me. I was hoping to see more of a gain. I think the factory clutch fan is actually pretty efficient.

It does work well though.

question about the fuel pump,is 190lph going to be enough or should i get the 255lph?and they offer two 255,one is high pressure and one is not

I think that 190 would have been fine but 255 will flow plenty. I do remember reading on RPS that some guys had issues with burning up pumps when they went over 190 because the fuel lines were too small to take advantage of all that flow and the backpressure eventually killed the pump.

It may have been that they were running those 255lph on the later 4.0's that had returnless fuel systems but not sure. I personally had no pump problems with 190. Though I did run a Vortech T-Rex 155lph pump inline with the 190lph pump for a while. I took it out since my A/F was fine without it.

"Makahveli" uses a 255 so i just went ahead and got it.yea might have been the later style.

I am currently running a 255lb TRE pump, 42lbs, blackmagic xtreme, and an instacharger. I can't imagine life with out my electric fan, think of a world where removing the fan and shroud as easy as some zipties or bolts. Not sure where I am at power wise, as the truck will hit the dyno maybe wed of next week.

If I am not mistaken the issue was with the leveler sitting correctly in the gas tank. He originally used the pump with stock assembly and due to it not being angled to fall in the right place. The leveler would mis-read the fuel level and allow the pump to burn up trying to suck up fuel that it could not get to.

Great information...thank you for clearing that up!

Sorry, I have been on daddy duty today. Added you on gtalk and sent you a message. Sorry if you paid an arm and a leg.. and quite possibly some toes.

The parts are trickling in. Good buy!

What a great hobby!
Hope your right on the plate. I found a high volume returnless style fuel pump and the ford racing blue 24 pounders will be good for me.

Your well on your way. Im sure you can do the fuel pump as soon as you get it. That one will probably be the messiest unless you go from the top anyway.

You shouldn't need larger injectors unless you go FI.19lbers are good till about 300hp.you could all ways get a c&l maf and have them tune it for 19lbs tho.that would help air flow.but for everyone that is using the mustang maf with stock electronics is just hurting performance, like me.

Yep got everything i need besides the new charger;)im going to redo my exhaust also now too.prob not till after tho.im going to do 3" dump in front of my tire.im going to use fake cats, straight through 3" pipe.so as of now the only thing ill be selling is my under drive pulley .the charger uses a explorer tb so i can use my bbk on it;)

I'm just waiting to see what you can do with the sc mount to the lower intake. If you can make it's height a few inches shorter, I have a decision to make.

I was just having a look at a newer explorer (2005) with v6 SOHC. RPCasters kit would probably fit that.

They make a couple kits for the sohc.yea i should have the kit this weekend so ill have to check it out and see how difficult it would be to copy and cnc one.it may be to expensive.or should say for the first one it may be.after they designed and have the programming for it im sure it couldn't be to hard to make.I've heard of people making them out of a 2x6 square metal with a flat larger piece of metal on top of it.prob what this guy made it out of Idk

well after alot of digging i found this, its for the tbird charger tho.anyone know the difference in the ford m90 and the gm m90?
http://www.ranger-resistance.com/forum/showthread.php?t=96
nevermind figured it out.looks like the gm unit is a better unit but the ford unit can be intercooled and is easer to mount.

Hey James.im thinking that the air temp sensor is before my charger so i don't think it will be pulling timing out like it did yours.yours was after the charger right?i also been doing some research and this new unit should reach full boost at like 1200 rpms so think my w/m needs to be on a boost switch.also i read that w/m can wear the coating off the blades of the sc if you use it to much.so with me building boost so early i don't know how the w/m is going to work.i may have to just run a richer af and little less timing and run the wm off a wot switch, may look into running a fuel additive also.10psi seems to be the max safe limit for a stock bottom with 10:1.this may sound crazy but you think it would be possible to temporarily put a resistor on my ecm wire from my O2 to trick the computer into thinking its running a little lean so it richs it up a bit.i could see what it really is with my wide band tho, just till i can get it tuned?
