5.0 2to4wd 4406 and tons

Was out at my buddy ranch, we were discussing the OD off codes I was getting. Plan was to hook up an O scope and watch the speed signals and maybe go through some wiring. Well garage beers did their thing and we never did anything but put hands on the harness just to identify them. Went and drove this thing through the “bounty hole” on his property. First one to make it though, and I did it about 10 times. For whatever reason I could not get it to throw codes in 4low… that was several weeks ago and I haven’t had a single issue since. A week or so later I went back and flexed it out on this berm and crawled over a pile of broken concrete. It will flex up about 40” before the rear tire lifts. I didn’t measure but you can see the front axle is about 45°.
I haven’t really been wheeling per se, I just keep getting phone calls from buddys stuck in the mud needing pulled out. Follow the trails till I find them, drag them out.
About to have a little money so I will be able to finish things like anti-wrap, pseudo boat sides, bumpers, lights, roof rack, etc. It takes about a year to air down/inflate these things so I’m looking into onboard air. Also since I do so much winching, I’m thinking of some kind of dual line lock that I can set front or back independently or together specifically for winching. The regular drag race stuff is meant for seconds not minutes so I’m still looking into that.

A manual Brake line lock? I’ve seen them plumbed into the cab before right at the feet of the driver…
I’ve always just tied off to a tree or another truck … pretty sure a 1988 bronco ii frame was never intended to do what I’ve put it through lol

Mmmk boys, I’m about to rip all the plastic out of these doors and use aluminum skins. Is it possible to manual window swap these things? I’m really tired of these door handles breaking and the electronics having a mind of their own. If it wasn’t Florida I would just do half doors but it rains and I need AC in the summer. Any ideas? Could I wire the windows differently and make a switch panel for each door? Shoot me a wiring diagram if you have it.
Still daily this thing btw, between the other trucks. Just kinda drive whatever feels good that day.

I have a 98 4 door explorer at my house right now
Manual windows and locks
Crazy! I’ve only ever had two Gen ii 4 doors with manual windows in all my days and I have owned probably 60 Gen iis?

I could ship some doors! Or door guts? They are out there!
The gen I 91-94 has similar doors more of those suckers were manual.. but still not many

I've seen a small handful of manual window four door Explorers in salvage yards over the years.

Do Ranger door guts swap in? Plenty of those had crank windows.

I like the switch panel idea too though.

Going with the manual "guts" swap would lighten it up a bit, but for frequent up, down, up, down, rain, sunny. rain, sunny, you may only want to make the driver's door manual window.

Ranger doors completely different inside

Would need all guts and lifting mechanisms plus door cards and wiring harness’ from 4 door explorer

I converted my bronco ii from electric to manual years ago and the doors are waaaay lighter
But in a ranger or bii it’s pretty easy to reach the passenger door. Obviously in a 4 door ex there is no reaching the back doors

I would be willing to either load all 4 doors on a pallet and ship it like that or gut all 4 doors make a pile of parts and ship like that. The 98 explorer only had 116k on it was a salvage title ohv 4.0 with a 5 speed manual… I already cut the front of the truck off and took the drivetrain.

Grass is going to life after people this truck soon if I don’t process it hahahaha

Yo can see she’s low miles but beat up pretty good which is why I stole the engine that and the “s” title… doors and glass are good! 98 ohv auto 4wd manual doors very cool truck
