Premade VS. Custom Cat Back Exhaust

As far as the muffler goes, I am looking for a deep throaty tone, not the ricer fart muffler sound (sorry to anyone that likes that type, but I mean come on it sounds like your engine had too many tacos). What would you guys suggest for a deep throaty muffler? I want something that will compliment that deeper tone my intake has given me.

40 series or 50 series..Flowmaster.. there's sound clips scattered all over the site
check youtube also

From what I can see, the price seems to be price of the muffler+ $100 or so. Seem about right?

Still wondering what I should do as far as X and Y pipes? Seems like most people have Y pipes. What are the benefits/disadvantages of both??

Dual or single? I'd think with 2.5 piping, a Y pipe and ur muffler would be fine for dual.. might want an X pipe..

Y pipes are used for either A: brings the 2 pipes to 1, and use a single in/single out muffler/cat, or B: to split the exhaust at the exhaust side of the muffler for duals.
X pipes (and H-pipes) are generally used before the cat, to equalize the pressure between the 2 headers/exhaust manifolds (generally only needed when 1 side is longer than the other, but never hurts to have although not really needed if it isn't there from the factory)

check out flo-pro mufflers...........I believe thats the name, i have one sitting in a box in the garage.

I am thinking that duals might not be needed. I would guess that I should go with a y pipe then single in single out muffler and a tail pipe in 2.5". Sound like a good set up??

Why is it sitting in your garage? Did not like it once you had it, or never put it on?

Just get a dual in, single out muffler, it will do the same thing a y-pipe will and be cheaper.

OK, so dual in single out muffler with a 2.5" tail pipe?

So, if I keep my stock pipe then a dual inlet muffler, what muffler is available in dual 2.25" inlets and single out??

Could I flip this one and make it work???? Ebay

Unless it says that its reversible, I wouldn't try it. If you do, it will probably kill any performance gain and it may not sound as good and drone a whole lot more.

What flo pro muffler would fit my truck?

Sent an email to flopro asking what mufflers they had with dual 2.25"inlets and 2.5" outlet....
"We have a few! Our FLO~PRO, FP737 or our new MAX muffler M11258 and M12258."

Anyone have any experience with any of these?? Opinons?
