That is a good Rhyme Greg!

Well, today was one of those days that nothing wanted to go right, so I just said the heck with it and closed up shop for the day. The pitman came off with a bit of a fight, and then the snap ring inside the steering box just had to be locked in the one position I cant get at with the pliers. The box has to be removed from the frame in order to get at it to replace the seal, :(

Think I will live with the leak for a bit longer.

Pitman arm is always a fight. But thats not why Im posting......

More Pictures please, I love Pugly.

I have pictures of all my old Fords, dont make me post them.

Bob :)

I will take some more pics someday Bob. She might get a good bath today and go for a little ride to the country club this evening. There is a nice waterfall there I wouldn't mind stopping at.

I am going to attempt to replace the front passenger side window motor with a rear drivers motor today. I have no idea if they are the same or not, but if not, I will get some new bushings for it.

Fixed the window motor with new bushings. The old ones were toast and nothing but a pile of crumbled bits. Right as rain now. :D

After getting the new bushings at the auto parts store, The blower fan decided it wanted some time off. Tried all speeds, nothing, dead as a doornail. Replaced the relay with a spare I had, and it works again. The gauges still act all goofy with the blower speed changes. I checked the Instrument ground on the pass side kick area, and it was fine. I have no idea what the deal is with it. :dunno:

You might want to look at the actual wiring where the blower relay plugs in. Especially the 2 larger leads to the blower motor. It is common for one to get burned looking and develop a bad connection.

Thanks for the tip!

I got tired of listening to the rear stock crap speakers, so I just swapped them out with the front RF Punch speakers, and installed a new set of 6.5" in the front. Sounds soooo soooo much better now. :D

I didn't realize the the rear doors have a 2nd set of speaker holes in them, and they look like they will hold a set of 6"x9" in there. :dunno:

While I had the door panels off, I sprayed the tracs with white lithium grease. Rears were kinda slow to raise, and I originally thought the motors were getting weak. Windows work nice and smooth now. :bounce:

We started getting cold morning temps here and an issue arose with the trans.

Seems that the engine needed to be running for a minute or so before trying to shift from reverse to drive. Had a delay going on. So I figured the TC was letting loose some crud with the new ATF. I dropped the pan, installed a new filter and poured in some new Mercron V.

The pan had no metal shavings whatsoever & the magnet was clean. Fluid was clean, but there was a slight black film on the pan. Nothing heavy, but definitely present.

From what I understand about the TC is, there is a clutch pack inside it and a valve from the trans opens/closes to allow fluid pressure to lock/unlock it. So this is most likely were the bit of blackness came from. Wish I had the $$ to buy a new TC at the time of the rebuild. I don't think a flush is good enough. Oh well, live & learn.

Your wish list must be as long as my arm mate. At least its crossed off up to my elbow :)

Getting the body damage would be nice, but I think the leaky valve cover gasket is the next thing to get fixed. Oil is making its way down the engine block and getting on the trans bell housing. :(

These rigs are like being in a long term relationship, it takes work to make it work.

At least pugly doesnt want the house if it all goes pair shaped.:D

Yeah, just have to keep telling her that her bumpers still look good, and she stays happy.

Assuring her that 33" tires don't make her look fat, keeps her confidence up.

Take her in to the Spa (car wash) once in a while, and she keeps on humming for a bit.

Couple gallons of premium fuel every now & then, and she is appreciative.

Cheaper to keep her.... :D

Hahahahaha, you know which button's to push mate:D

The torque converter will leave that film. It took me four tranny swaps on this supposed brand new rebuilt tc to realize that it was turning my ATF into burnt motor oil. :-(

Yeah, got me thinking I need to pull the trans and replace that TC.

That's going to have to wait until spring at least, I have way to many things going on right now.:banghead:

Pugly got a little TLC today :)

New Monroe Sensa-tracs in the front.

New lifetime brake pads.

Added another tow hook to the front. (Yes, that makes 2 hooks now :p: )

Trimmed the bumper corners an inch for better clearance of the 33's when compressed. Made a folded edge so if it manages to touch, it wont cut the tires.

Pugly is going wheeling again in a week. Nothing like wheeling to find the weak parts and issues :D

So Pug's must be a MY 2011 by now ay?:D

I need to go on a road trip to pick up the 97 4.10 8.8. Once I have this, the axle(s) swap is on! Been sitting on the front 4.10 3rd member for 6 months now, and am dying to get them installed.

So I have to do a little reading, to figure out the conversion for the rear using the 2nd gen 8.8. I think I have to use a 95 Master cylinder, and do some plumbing in the rear, and maybe something with the E-brake set up.

Can't wait for this mod to happen! :D
