Bugger about the 12 pt socket mate but how cool would a 2nd gen 8x8 10 litre V16 be?

Sounds like A Monster Truck! :D

Well, after spending (wasting) almost the entire day looking for the stupid 6mm 12pt socket, I found one. Was in the last place I looked :p:

Of all places that actually had it, PepBoys Automotive had a couple 3/8" drive on the shelf.

Game is back on for the weekend! :bounce:

Yeah....probably easier just to buy a tank or at least an APC:D

Glad the games back on mate.

Short lived game :(

3/8" drive socket is to wide to reach the dang bolt head. Back to searching for a 1/4" drive.

Put it all back together for now. Will try it again at another date. :banghead:

Still haven't had a chance to get to the front swap as of yet, but hoping the weather is nice enough next week to allow it to happen.

In the meantime.......

I finally solved the crazy gauge issues. :bounce:

Ended up being a bad Battery ground cable.

The cable was only about a year old or so, so I believed it was still good. After checking everything and anything, (including installing a new 130 amp ALT), I decided to just check it out.

Sure enough, the connection at the frame was a mess inside the outer sleeve. Went and got a brand new BWD replacement cable, and BAM! No more crazy gauges!! Woot!

The cost of a 130 amp ALT
The cost of a BWD replacement cable :)

Getting rid of the funky gauge issue...priceless:D

Wanted a 130 amp upgrade from the 90 amp anyways. :D

New stock replacement ground cable was over $40!

I always get thing's arse about...being from down under where even the dunny (toilet) is backwards :D

Found a set of LED rock lights I had stashed away and forgot about them.

Installed them on Pugly today in the rocker areas. 8 total led pods. Pictures after it gets dark out. :D

Well, those led lights are not all that and a bag of chips. :(

So to make up for that, Pugly got a video monitor installed. It is working for the DVD player, and looks great.

Now, to install the rear view camera. I have a nice long vinyl tube that I plan on running the video cable thru, and attach to the frame rails from bumper to firewall. Will come up thru a floor plug on the passenger side, then to the Monitor. This will be pretty darn simple to do compared to ripping the interior apart running that cable.

I want to wire up the HU & the camera inputs, to alternate with a flip of a switch. Ideas for a small video switch? All the ones I have seen are big & bulky. Dual RCA in/out, Smaller the better. :)

I dont think I've seen any small ones either mate but there has to be something out there you can either buy or Macguyver.

Okay, I figured out the switching part of the monitor from video to camera. Just had to wire 2 switches, one for the DVD, and one for the Rear view camera.

Since I had all this stuff added and was running out of room to put anything, I decided to make a console for it. I seen how Froader did his, so I thought to copy it and put my own twist to it.

Passenger shot of the twist I came up with. Used a set of self closing cabinet hinges so that I can easily open one side to work behind it, and so that it will come out without taking it apart.

Only thing I screwed up on was one switch came out lower than the other. IDK what the heck happened, but oh well, it works. I plan on having a leather side pocket deal used for TV remotes (armchair caddy) to hold loose items I need, such as pens and pad of paper, etc... Still have to pick that up.

The clear flexible tubing used to house the vid camera cables, ran on top of frame from firewall to bumper.

Thats pretty sweet. How do you like the 4.10s I may have missed your review. Should be alot better!

Mini Fridge next??

4:10 has been real nice, but still haven't been able to get the front 3rd member swapped out yet.

I actually want a cooler fridge for the back when we take a long trip or for camping etc.. Would be cool to have a nice 1000w inverter installed under the hood, and the wiring ran to a single plug 110v outlet in the front console, and the cargo area. :D

Alright, tomorrow she gets an oil change, a t-case fluid change, and some new wiper blades.

Need to send out an SOS for help next weekend to get the 3rd member swapped out. The kids are driving this at the meet next month. They are not going to be happy if it cant use 4WD.

Also needs to go in and have the CB dialed in at the shop, since I have no idea how to adjust this older style of firestick antennae.

Hope they have a good one at meet mate!

Inner/Outer Axle shafts U-joints are 1210 series?

I know the Drive shafts are 1310 series, but I thought all were 1310, and O'Reilly's is showing the axles to be 1210 series. Hmm..

I could have sworn the u-joints on the front axle itself were 5-760X (1310 series). At least that is what I have written down on my notes page (5-760x - cold forged - front axle u-joints)

Edit: don't forget, many "computers" still think the explorer had a dana 28 as an option which might account for the smaller u-joint listed.
