Well alrighty than!

After reading the Yukon install guide, I have to admit, until I see it done, There is NO WAY I would try to tackle this on my own for the first time. I am a pretty fast learner, and I am always willing to learn something. This is one of those things that has to be done multiple times to get down pat.

I am feeling very blessed and extremely thankful to all the knowledge of members and their collective data base, that has shared and are willing to lend a helping hand.

I hope I can continue to help others as others has helped me. Thank you all.

Ok, a road trip is in store for the Black Hole. It will be going to Humboldt KS once again. This coming weekend, Dkchrist, Turdle, & I will be installing the new 4.56 gears in it.

I have a feeling it is gonna be a long and boring ride back home. A 3 HR tour, will take roughly 9 HRS to make it back. The cool down time for the gears, and the limited speed I can travel for the first 500 miles is gonna suck, to say the least. BUT...it will be worth it. Getting these done in time for the CCR run in Ouray CO next month, is monumental for me! Having it respond like it did when it was stock, will be very nice on a 17 HR road trip (one way). Having something happen when I mash the gas pedal will be nice as well.

I did get the hitch off, and installed on the 94 EX today. Yesterday I got another led button switch to replace the old rectangle rocker switch for the front PIAA fogs. Red led switches for the top lights, & fogs. Blue led switches for the under side lights. All fixed into the console pocket, below the radio bezel.

Dude just spend some time driving around Humbolt before leaving, so you can just drive regular on the way back.

Yeah, thought about that already. I might drive it around for half a day doing the cooling down stops, then try to take it home on back roads at 45 mph, stopping a few times for it to cool.

The yukon gear instructions dont say anything about speed. Just to drive lightly for 10-15 miles, and then let it cool. Then just dont accelerate hard after that for the first 100 miles. Wait untill 500 miles before towing, and when towing the first time drive less than 15 miles , then stop for 20 mins to cool, and repeat that two more times. Change oil after 500 miles.

You should be able to do the first drive and cool down cycle, then just head home, taking it easy.

Ditto, make a short trip there with Jon, and find something to do for an hour or more. After that cool down, then you can drive at normal speeds without high throttle.

OK been long enough where the Pics? Webcam?

Roof is intact. rear gears are installed, front is out & apart awaiting gears in the morning.

I took the torch away from Eric, and chased him down the street. He promised to behave for the rest of the weekend:D

Been a little busy with all that is going on over here. Jon has been powder coating all day for others, Eric has been working on his rig, removing parts. Daniel has been working on my rig with gears. I have been doing what I can to help out. Chris & his wife have been doing a CB install, and helping where they can.

Than the Margarita's magically appeared out of nowhere, and a few minds started wandering..lol..;)

Nah, we got everything we need, (almost). Forgot to get front oil seals for the axle outputs. Went to 3 diff stores in a 30 mile radius to find them, than the State Hwy Patrol had to interfere with our parts run! Dont they understand that we were in a hurry, and had a tight schedule to keep? :dunno:
