Truck Haven for Thanksgiving '07

I'm coming from I-8, so if I take 86 (northward) from Brawly, s22 looks like it is S Marina Drive if I turn right (east).. and 4 miles down that road make it look like I'll be driving on N. Marina drive by that point (Marina drive loops)

I "think" I see the spot on the map. I'd take 86/78 from brawly but stay on 86 until I get to s22 (which is Borrego Salton Seaway). Turn left (west) on s22 and drive about 4 miles.. Then I see a couple turn offs near each other on the right (north side of the road).. One looks similar to what I saw in the airplane pic.

hey, we're thinking about getting a tow dolly to tow the navajo behind the bronco. just wondering what experiances any one has had with towing a lifted car on a tow dolly.

good idea or bad idea?

No big deal. It's just like any other car. I towed my 91 ranger on 33s on a dolly when the tranny blew.

You would need a manual transfer case, or tow it backwards to use a tow dolly. The electronic shifting T-cases do not have a neutral. Also would have to be a real wide dolly to fit your tires.

Tracy and I might stop by tomorrow afternoon /evening on our way to Lake Havasu. It will only be for a few minutes though.

really????? i thought this only applies for auto trannys?

I would not feel safe because of the fear of some freak accident knocking the tranny in gear.

Just pull the rear drive shaft out.

haha but that tranny doesn't want to go in gear even when i try!!!!

but, if i do have it in neutral, it should be fine to tow it forwards?

but if i should take the drive shaft out to be safe, then thats what i'll do

You dont have to pull the drive shaft but its just my thing. If something can go wrong it will happen.

now that you say that, it sounds like thats true for me too :D

hmm you make a good point. but honestly that thing never wants to go into gear.

buti have a feeling it decide it finally wants to when we tow it

but it would work fine to two it backwards?

Pull the driveshaft and you'll be fine towing it front first.

Or if you wan to keep the driveshaft, pop the shift motor off and turn the shift rod to the Neutral position. There is technically a Neutral but the button on the dash doesn't have a position for it. Neutral is between 4HI and 4LO and says "N".

Char and I are out:( We weren't able to get a pet sitter to stay with our dogs. One of them is 18 and too old to handle a kennel. We were working on this until now. We're out of options:banghead:

Well sense it's the in thing to do! :D
