Sure looks like a chip to me. Does the follower contact the chip?

No, because there is no chip. Must have been a reflection of my dirty beard

Good job! Timing replacement is not a job for an amateur. You knocked it put pretty quickly for someone your age in the driveway.

Thanks for all your help via pm's.

But I do see what you did there. My dad thought that was hilarious.

Lol anytime. Definitely an OCD cleaning job on your part and I love it. That takes time for sure.

I loved this generation's design! It also reminds me of Matt on here, who had one lit to the surface of the sun with PIAAs.

Today, Larry gets all new driveline fluids.

Just taking a break now, but transfer case and front diff are done, rear diff cover burning off for powdercoating because I can't afford a bling one, diff is draining. Now I am going in for trans filter and refill.

Front diff fluid looked like honey.

143,000 mile service total

Timing chains
Water pump
Coolant flush
Thermostat
Oil change
Trans fluid and filter
Differential fluids
Transfer case fluid
Spark plugs
Air filter
Fuel injector rebuild and clean

I was just able to button up the rear diff before 80 mph wind from every direction hit. Trees are all twisted and even uprooted around town. Just lost some limbs into the garden here.

Rear diff, before and after

Here's the storm coming in

Man that diff cover looks great!
I'd heard that storms were sweeping the SEK area.

I may have to send you a diff cover or two to do for my rigs. 😁

Did ya notice the trans fluid spill?

No matter, something fails. This time the catch pan was cracked.

I'll gladytry to make em purty if you do.

You ever get your evap code figured out? Got a buddy with the same issue you had

Guess what? Nope. I ran new wires, replaced connector, valve and hose.

Although, even with 2 noise suppressors on these, I hear a lot of noise on am radio. I even hear random popping which is completely vehicle related.

I suspect the alternator.

All ignition coils are factory
I'd hate to replace the pcm for this . Coding keys would be required.

I can clear the codes, always 3 p0443 codes.

Truck will run cel free as far as we go and turn off engine.

It will turn on within a few miles of restart.

MLB whoopsied. She's ok. Full srs deployment

That's a beautiful truck!

Thanks!. It's now rolling a rebuilt salvage title. Like a good neighbor insisted, even though repairs were less than 70% . New law says they can regardless of damage value on cars over 7 years old.

Sometimes I think the insurance pays it off and the least damaged ones, the employees buy. Someone hit my Jeep back in 2017 and the other guys insurance really wanted to salvage it even though it was just an axle it needed. They seemed extremely shocked I took the money and fixed it. What I didn't tell them is that I already had all the replacement parts cause I was swapping in a different axle.
