The mini van stigma is funny. My mother-in-law has a 2010 Honda Odyssey which replaced her 99 and I absolutely loved both of them. The mom of twins I mentioned in my last post said she will never buy one. She drives an Audi A4 Avant...

I figured the 3rd and 4th gen explorer was as close to mini van status as I could get without actually buying one.

I think they are 22" only. looks like they are pretty popular too, seem to be pricy for a used set if you find them.

Is the tent from the F1 going on the roof of this thing? Or will you just camp out in the back?

I'm going to try the RTT on this, but the inside is pretty big. Maybe the 12 yr old step-son will like the tent on top of the rig and the wife, 1yr old and I will chill inside.

Key fob quit working today... I tried to reprogram and it didn't work. Weird thing is that when I pushed a button on the fob (during programming) it cycled the locks. After that, nothing. Ordered 2 new ones from Amazon for a total of $7.45 shipped.

Yeah, new battery didn't help. I still think it's weird that during the programming procedure, when i pushed the button on the fob it cycled the locks. But after the programming was done, it didn't work. Oh well, hopefully the new ones will work fine.

did it confirm it with a final lock unlock or horn honk? if it cycled the locks, and didn't work, it sounds like you did something wrong.

I had to turn the key the 8 times, to enter programing, push the fob, and then start the car after it was done. when I turned it off it locked and unlocked to confirm.

I'll see if I can find my instructions, however they should be in you manual.

It did confirm, but I didn't start it and turn it off. After the 8 cycles, I pushed the fob then waited 20 second and it cycled again. I'll go out and try the start thing, but it didn't say to do that in the instructions. Worth a try though...

Starting it didn't change anything. I'll just wait to see what happens when the new fobs come in.

My instructions I got with my fobs are different for the different ford models. However mine wasn't exactly what it says it was either. I guess I just got lucky.

What sucked about the focus, was with just the key, you had 12 seconds to put the key in the ignition and turn to run after you unlocked and open the door. Otherwise the horn and lights would go crazy.Not fun with 2 kids
