This came up in the random photos block. This was a great run. Hard to believe it was nearly 20 years ago. Sadly we've lost at least a couple of our friends since then.
I might be a relative noob here, but I've pored over these old Truckhaven and other off-road threads many a time, to look back at freeze-frames from days gone by. I was a kid when these posts were made, and the community has advanced a great deal, some of them staying around, others going on to other life experiences, and others into the great beyond. Looking through these archives, seeing how the community came together, and how much knowledge and wisdom was amassed through these experiences, and how many good times were had, is a sacred and historical thing.
Some day I'd like to get my rigs out there and see where the big names here on the forum have trodden. May be I can make it happen for EF's 30th anniversary.
What you and the boyos did here in those days was a good thing, @Rick. The shape of the off-road industry itself has been changed by your forum over these years, and the community you've brought together here is one that will not be lost, even when all of us are passed and gone.
