Started on a small project this afternoon, and right after I got the tires off, a wall cloud approached, and all hell broke loose. Rains followed and temps dropped 20* in 15 mins. Cold rains are my least favorite, and had no desire to go back out in that junk. So I only got half way done with the project.

Made a set of Front Shock Resi mounts. I was going back and forth on how to make these, and where to put them. I decided on mounting over the shock towers, using the center bolt for the coil over bracket to hold them. They will be out of the way here.

I made them the same thinking they would work the same. Nope. I discovered why that shop left the Dr side splash guard off the wheel liner. The new A/C line pushes outward into the wheel well so far, that the liner itself is pushed out 3" further than it should be, by that A/C line. WTF? Also found the vac ball hard lines was hanging loose and on the outside of the liner. The liner wasn't fastened at the back end, and flopping loose. I swear, I find something Effed up each day.

So I had to make a longer bolt tab for the Dr side to clear the liner, and remove the Pass side splash guard to match. I have some major cleaning and some painting to do up here. I have more work to do with the front suspension, very soon, and will take care of it all then.

Good work, and I love the big work bench. Big storms are no joke, I'm glad you didn't get worse, the hail etc. I used to not be bothered by storms, now I've lived through a hail storm that tore up cars and roofs. I don't like them anymore.

Been working on the rig constantly to get it road worthy once again. All kinds of loose wires, parts, bolts, etc... to deal with. Been a royal pita to deal with, as I keep finding more to fix.

Anyways, this weekend was planned to go work on another project, at a friends shop 140 miles away. This rig is in need of a new hood, and I had my friend paint a new one for me this week. Plan was to get the hood replaced, and work on the other project all weekend.

So the rig has made 2 trips around the block, and then a simple Hwy test for 10 miles. Well, it threw a P1309 code. I cleared the code, and it came back on within a mile. Short on time, I can't mess with it today, and brought it back home where it is safe, until it can be looked into further. Another trip messed up, due to this rig not finished, and not trust worthy at the moment. I now have a hood stuck 140 miles away, taking up space in a place of business. So frustrated, I can strangle a worm out of a tree limb right now,

I am beginning to wonder if I ever should have messed with it. 50 hp gain, just doesn't sound justified for the $$ and headaches it's caused. I'm just upset, and I know it will take time to get it right. Always something with these rigs!!

A 96 or 97 harness would fix all your ghosts and you wouldn't have any of the body codes coming up. Whoever did the swap was not the smartest and created a ton of extra work for himself.

The 98 engine and trans is completely compatible to a late 97 harness. The only difference before that is the range sensor and temp sender.

Decided not to mess with it today. Just switched rigs, and motored on. Made it to my friends about 4 hours late. We worked on a project til 9pm, and just got to see your guys posts.

I won't have a chance to mess with the rig until next week sometime. I will check the harness connectors, as I never would have even thought of that. Since it was something recently worked on, there is always that chance it wasn't tightened or some pins got misaligned. I will also do as Jon suggested, and inspect the CPS.

I did pick up that SCT tuner. I just have to watch the disc, and learn how to use it. lol I'm hoping it will help out in some way.

seriously though, the raised part of the hood done in flat black would look good and help with driving.i bet you could do it in vinyl

That hood is beautiful, don't touch it. Mine looks like it has flat black on it, it's dead paint.

Too late. It is getting airbrushed with a unique design, fitting of this rigs nature.

I have already tried vinyl, and I have already done a mat black on the raised section. Niether worked for me.

I'm picking it up this weekend by truck, and bringing it home for install.

What I am going to do with the original hood is beyond me. Free to a good home!
