Our "small" run on Steelbender began with 14 rigs!!! Had a great time, just took forever to get all those trucks through.

Then we had a fun "Night Run" on Fins and Things. Pretty amazing how steep you can climb on Moab slickrock.

(and DON'T get gas at the Chevron!!!!)

Welcome to the Serious Explorations 10th anniversary CARNAGE RUN!

MAN!!! What a weekend. Yesterday it was James Young with a busted driveshaft. He didn't get back to camp until nearly 11pm. Then there was Marshall and JTX with fuel delivery problems.

Today wasn't any better. First I busted a fitting on my Atlas II which let all the fluid drain out. After applying a bit of JB Weld we were back on our way... but not for long. Shortly after that Matt started having the same fuel problems that Marshall did the day before. Matt pulled the bed off his truck, checked the fuel pump pickup for debris, blew out the fuel filter and did everything else we could thing of to get it running. Unfortunately it would only run for a few minutes at a time.

Robert and I headed back to Moab to pick up my spare fuel pressure regulator and coil pack. We also bought 10 gallons of gas for him to try in case he had bad fuel.

While I was in CarQuest the phone rang. Turned out that CG busted a tierod end. He has a custom setup and we had no idea what vehicle the tierod came from. Thankfully they got ahold of Dixon Bros who told them the part number they needed.

So now it was a matter of getting them the parts. Understand that I didn't even get back into town until 5pm... Robert was up for a rescue mission, but I wasn't. My wrist has been giving me problems all week and I have a brace for it. The run today beat the hell out of it with all the bouncing around and I just couldn't bring myself to get back on the trail. Thankfully Jefe and his Brother John stepped up and drove back to deliver the parts. Both of them will get some goodies tomorrow for their efforts.

As for the rest of the group. We made it to the Bar M Chuckwagon late. The place was nice enough to wait for us and they started their show as soon as we got there. The food was good and the entertainment was a lot of fun. I'm just sorry there were some folks who missed out.

We were going to hold our raffle after the entertainment, but there was no way I was going to leave out the guys who were still in the trail so we're going to hold the raffle tomorrow morning before we head out on the trails.

I should have my photos up shortly. Unfortunately I didn't take nearly as many as I normally do because my wrist is so screwed up.

Ahh... I nearly forgot to add more carnage ;) Gerald's tranny started acting up on Poison Spider on the way to Golden Spike. He felt that it would be too risky to attempt the Launch Pad with a badly slipping tranny so he headed back to town.

The Behind The Rocks group had their share of problems as well. Arsoul blew a U-Joint in his D44. Marshall's fuel problems returned and he was only able to drive short distances before the engine would load up and stall. I'm sure others will fill in the details.

My pics will be here in just a few. They're uploading now. www.explorer4x4.com/moab_06

Perry and Colin both had problems with batteries. And in addition to Marshall's fuel(?) problem he also managed to wrap half of his engine harness around his steering shaft, destroying quite a few connectors in the process (trans control, O2 sensor, oil press., etc), AND he was somehow missing a PCV valve.

Hey Rick, which Robert are you talking about that went on the parts/rescue run? Was that 90ranajo or someone else?

Nice pics.

Hey Show, looks like your rear tires are stuffing inside what little of the fender wells you have left on the rears goin through golden spike. NICE!!!

Here's the bummer to myu story though. Just found out that we aren't going anywhere for a while so I got to sit here in Japan with my thumb up my ass instead of being there. What really ticks me off is I told them this was goin to happen. *******S. Oh well, at least I saved $700 in gas. F-that, I would rather have spent that and been there:(

It was Show who drove back to town with me and then back up the trail with Jefe  .

Here's a photo from today's stocker run. I went on this one to check out the LaSalle mountains. It was a long ride, but well worth it for the scenary and the cool weather.

Yes indeed! I stalled the engine right there and I couldn't restart it. I needed to turn the wheel to the right and back down, but there was no turning with the engine dead and all the weight on the front right wheel.

Thankfully they were quick with a strap and Matt pulled me out of there without a problem
