Hey!! same thing: .. I think...
yeah-
there are about 2 gagillion "smoked chrome" and "black chrome" powders on the market-and frankly, sometimes they overlap-
What I will refer toi as "black chrome" in the future will be transparent shades of black over a polished surface-
Smoked chrome tries to mimic this effect over any surface-

Sweet, it looks great. I was under my LF corner yesterday evening changing a brake line(blown SS). I'm better now.

I'd be interested in seeing how well the powdercoating holds up.. My warrior shackles were powder coated but flaked off after 1.5 yrs.. I don't know if the problem was related to the powder coating or to the shackles being scratched from Off-Road use causing moisture to get under coating and rusting it..
Yeah,
I have seen stock shackles held together by nothing more than a layer of powdercoat-
This happens to any part-if the shackles would have been painted it would have been 10 times worse. Any knicks should be touched up immediately with a bit of powder dabbed on a cotton swab moistened with acetone.

yes you can-

See, it's not what, but who you know that makes things work.
For instance, I know who to call if I want to go up 10 floors in a hurry--

Has anybody here ever REMOVED an explorer express rear lowering kit? Let me tell you, those bolts will not work loose, I put my word on that-
I had to get help to get them off, as my impact wouldn't fit and I could not wrench that hard-
I almost cut the u bolts off, but knew techieman33 wanted them, so we salvaged the blocks and bolts-
It's taken me all afternoon to get this rear axle worked free.

U bolts = suck
leaf spring bolts = suck
removing rear live axle is a PITA
I have fought Chevy's, Dodge, and of course a few explorer's
Cutting the U bolts has become very popular around here, finding the right replacements not always so easy, but there are a few places in town that will make whatever you want in 1 day or less
4-5' breaker bar, liquid wrench, and a strong back

ubolts should not be reused from what I have heard, but who wants to drop $40 everytime they drop their axle?
I fought with mine really bad when I put my total chaos ubolt plates on and the ubolts were only 6 months old.

damn, mine came right off with a 2' breaker bar on both trucks. I had to cut and replace the leaf spring bolts though. I hosed mine down every day for about a week with PB Blaster before I did them though.
