Does IT'S ON! mean it's going to be finished?

If we don't stand around and BS....It could be :D I have all the parts. Only thing I'm missing is brake lines. My only other issue would be the rear driveshaft :(

Just got through a Frontier lift on for a buddy sometime this weekend too.

I don't think those frontier lifts are the "throw on type" :D "Its on" might mean the whole weekend is dedicated to making sure the frontier lift "is on"!!

Why are we flaming stic-o anyway? Seems like a nice enough guy...

I dunno, that looks kind of difficult. Not sure you'll be able to figure that all out. Maybe you should just come to the BBQ instead. :D

Went over and played with the truck a little tonight. Our pitman arm sits to far back, and with the steering in place it binds :( So we have two sulutions. 1. move the whole axle back. or 2. the easier, move the sterring box forward more. This should be pretty easy, just need to drill two new holes ;)

How about a shorter pitman arm? Seems like the 2x4 rangers etc. have a shorter pitman arm. Maybe thats not it, but I saw something with a shorter pitman arm. Maybe my jeep. I will look.

if anything I need a longer pitman arm. We tried getting the pitman off both cases we have. That suckers not going anywhere! We broke two pullers, and started pressing in the case with a fork on one of them:eek: it's pretty easy to just move the box up. My only problem then will be the lower radiator hose :(

If the pitman arm is unwanted - slice the arm (with a grinder) in two-opposing places where it bolts to the steering gear box - that should get it off.

you may wana put the puller back on spray some wd40 on the splines of the gera box and tighten it up then leave it sit for a awhile. Then come back and tighten some more and leave it sit some more. it should pop off after awhile ive had to do this several times

Just squish it a little. Thats how mine and a few others 2nd gens are.

Mine too, i've never had a problem with lack of flow and over heating.

For the pitman arm. Put the puller on it tighten it down. then heat the pitman arm with a MAPP gas torch for about 10 seconds then a good wack with a 3 pound sledge and it should fall right off. Thats how I got mine off.

Well got the steering box issue solved today. Moved it forward and changed the angle. It's in the perfect spot now, and does not touch the radiator hose ;) Tommorow, we'll make the trac bar bracket, and drag link. Then we'll get the bucket welded back on and she should be on all 4's by tommorow night. :bounce:

after that is done, just got to weld the rear perchs, and see if I can get my d-shaft to work for now :( Then it's just the shocks and mounts, and running the new brake lines :D

I planed to get alot farther today, but lost a tire in my crap mobile  and how to go throw a set of new tires on it. :banghead:

Is it standing on it's own now?

:( No! next weekend really :(

The Frontier took a little longer then expected, and working on it in the middle of the driveway (vs. mine in the garage) in 105* really kinda get to you, after a few hours.

I did work on mine yesterday though. Got the draglink built, now just have to make the trac bar mount. I ran into another issue though. Using the over the knuckle steering, at lock the tie rod hits the lower track bar bolt. I will have to try to shorten the bolt...what I can  or run the steering back stops out farther on the knuckles. :(

Would you gain anything if you reversed the bolt so the nut is on the pinion side of the axle?

I'll check that out.
