nice.... it seems like the front end doesn't drop down too far under heavy braking which is good.
Thanks -- anti-dive was calulated and minimized during the design stage of the suspension.

I guess 'anti-liftoff' went right out the window, huh :D

Btw, I still have a big ol' box of d60 bearings hanging out in Wolf's garage if you find yourself out in his direction ;)

Ahaha - "anti-squat" is a characteristic mostly of the rear suspension.
That will be eliminated hopefully next summer with the help of a 4-link.

I'll stop by sometime either this weekend or the following week. BTW, when do you expect to have your SAS-ed Explorer running?

Well, last I heard we were still waiting on hell to freeze over :D

What kind of spring setup are you thinking for the 4 link? air shocks, coils/coilovers, 1/4 elliptical, ect?

THat'll be soon then :D Its going to get really cold after this weekend.

Not sure yet but its most likey air-shocks just to keep things uniform. But a cage is probably going to be first since the upper shock mount will probably be at a cage. Hopefully just a simple cage.

Did you get your compressor yet??

Did you get your compressor yet??
Hey! Yes, yes I did - thank ye! ;)
This weekend I'm going to pick up an aluminum scuba tank for it ($20 on CraigsList  )

Good, i hope my description was accurate!

Well it sure does look like an air pump ;)
Doesnt bark so cant be a dog.

actually it should look like an air compressor :p:

Good job on the build man. Any plans on changing the 3-link?

a 4 link in the back will probably need a lottttt of trimming stuff to fit properly

The 3-link will stay .. so far its almost damn perfect with almost damn perfect double-cardan pinion angle during suspension cycle (thanks to Kirby N and a handful of other members for the guidance during the design phase).

The 4-link, like the front, will require a lot of modifications. But most of the back of the body will be removed except for the side panesl to keep the "SUV" look -- which hopefully will be "dovetailed". The other option is to just remove all of the back panels and replace it with fiberglass (I prefer working with composites than sheet metal). The bottom "floor" in the back will be removed to make room for the the rear suspension and cross members, a basic cage, a smaller gas tank (~10 gallons), and whatever else ends up back there. Plans to move the rear axle forward a few inches will also mean cutting into the rear doors -- or just removing them.

But all this is far from now, I have other things to worry about at the moment -- like a tow rig,

Haha that looks like fun on the freeway! Were you in 4wd for that video? A lot of guys build a link suspension with all kinds of antisquat and it still shoots straight up, in 2wd. Having it in 4wd changes everything. The axle trying to rotate puts leverage on the links, evening things out a bit.

That's just bad design...
