Monster Comes Home

Well got the front shocks mounted, and fixed the pass. side spring. Went over everything, put in coter keys, Grease and ect. She's a little hairy on the free way, kinda gets the sway back and forth. I would't want to serve out of the way of someone Other then that she drives pretty smooth and straight. It was getting late and the wife was waiting for me to bring home dinner. But I still wanted to try to flex her a bit... My parents front porch would have to do!

Right rear shock was pretty much stuffed all the way, however the tire did not touch the shock. The rest still had plenty of room to do there thing.

Then I desided ithis would be a funny picture My mom's '99 4x2 with 30" BFG's vs. My '99 4x4 with 35" MT/R's

I think you can flex a little more than that curb is allowing too.

On a side note. What did you use to resize those pics? They bring on the suck.

Actually my mom took those pics with her 8MP cammera. I think what happens is the pictures are so big with that size of MP, that when you make them smaller (info), they don't come out so well That's what happens when I forget my camera

Love the rig Stic. Are you going to put any bracing on the front shock mounts so there is no frame twist up there?

Actually there sort of is. I used the 250 mounts, but they were going to sit to high, so we a tall piece of 1/4" angle behind it. I'll keep a eye on it, I can still run some triangles behind it if need be. I still have to build a cross brace for the front, it currently is using the engine, and a 1/4" piece of angle that is just under the radiator.

BTW, what kind of rear shocks are you running? I have Rancho adjustables and keeping them set tight on the highway keeps the sway way down to nada.

I'm runnig 15" BBCS all the way around. The back dosn't seem to be a problem, it's planted, just the front is a bit squirly, part of it may be the pre-runner rake I have going on right now Jefe had this issue too. I don't want to block it, I just need to find some lightly used 4 door leafs. I planed to run the leafs outside the frame, put that changed when I put the shocks out there.

Don't worry they all look just as crappy! My dad can weld on a flat serface on the ground, but hasn't figured out up and down on the truck

I had the same problem in the begining. What are your alignments like, especially caster?

Which C bushings did you use? That's the bushings that go between the axle and the radius arms.

I used the 7* ones. I think it may be to much though. the ball joint are not straight up in down, they are tilted back at the top a bit. Pinion angle dosn't look too bad though. I have not had the truck's alignment done yet. It's not far off though. it drives pretty straight, and dosn't squeel anywhere. and the sterring wheel is upside down now I had to re-center the axle and havn't adjusted for it yet, to put the steering wheel right side up.
