What are the ramp plans?

The grip tape looks good. Are you going to paint the top of the sliders white so you can see your design?

Acually I was going to mist them with red on the top so you can see the detail.

Well we want to make the ramp portable, so we are going with a 30* ramp vs. a 20* ramp. 10 feet should be long enough. ..hopefully. it will have trangled supports that go out about 4 ft. the ramp is 24" wide now. that should be wide enough. It will be two piece, so it can lay flat for transporting.

I forgot, I checked on the caster. 9-10* :( It could be worse though :D

Maybe I can roll my truck on the ramp, since I will be one of the few left who has not gone solid. Instead of going out on the trail, we can spend the whole day on the ramp, right in camp. Just think of the gas we will save...    :D

I probally need jefe to help me out with his bender though ;)
Come up and use it, or borrow it? Either way let me know.

I was under my truck last night and remembered the only spot on the 2nd gen frame that I would be worried about after cutting the crossmember out. There are two rather large holes in the frame so that the factory can get to the bolt for the pass. side engine mount with a socket. On my build the shock hoop spans this, but I might be worried about it otherwise.
However I still think that a good trans crossmember and a crossmember added mear the front bumper is probably enough for the stiff boxed frame we have.

As for your steering box, I traded in my JY box for a rebuilt at autozone, and don't remember it costing that much.

I got one at the same place a few years ago, I think it was $90.00 with a lifetime warranty. No problems with it so far. The stock one had way too much play in it for my liking. I tried to take out the play by adjusting the tension, but all that did was stiffen up the steering, without taking out any of the play. If you change out the steering box, use Mobile 1 atf after draining all the lines and the res. It takes out the "Ford steering box whine".

Hmm.. a remanufactured box from Autozone/Kragen's is $150-$160. The also stock them..

As for your caster - 9-10 is high; high enough if your toe-in is off (either too much or too little) it will cause problems.

Newb question, but what do you do to get them at the right angle?

Rotate the axle forward or backwards.

Or slice the "inner-Cs" or "inner knuckles", rotate them, and weld them at the proper angle

They also make C-bushings for the wedges at different angles.
Newb question, but what do you do to get them at the right angle?
You just change the rubber/poly c bushings. There are different ones. They have 4* and 7* ones. The ones I have installed are 7*, which for my set up is too much. But normally would be correct. I just have some custom arms, that are made a little different. If I go to a 4* wedge, it would change mine to 5-6* Optimal is 6*-8*

BUt if you go with the wedge, doesnt that also change the pinion angle?

That's quadruple cardigan... which is illegal in CA so I know you don't have that.
